I hesitated to say this, but with regard to Matilda Goad, aside from a few nice pieces here and there, I don’t get it.

I'm so glad you discovered Matilda and these videos of her home! I bumped into them a few months ago and even though it's not my overall personal style, I love what she did, makes sense as an English cottage vibe, and it's so creative and cozy. Your are 100% right, the way the videos are shot and presented. I rewatch them as a way. to destress and relax.

i agree with you when you said to keep the original fireplace, i have an original fireplace and it is my favorite part of my home, i get so many compliments about it.

I think she intentionally chooses the “wrong” thing sometimes. Like the rug critique for ex. I think that’s very much on purpose. Obviously she knows what she’s doing. But it’s so cool how she will pick the thing that u initially may say, no not that. But she makes it work. Never a contrived moment.
