I watched this anime years ago and thought it was very good if a little melodramatic.

I watched the subbed version. Lacus is pronounced how it’s spelled. There’s no “oo” sound. The e and a in Dearka are pronounced separately as “eh” and “ah” respectively.

Also the extendeds talk entirely differently in the sub. They’re just bratty child soldiers. No 2000s gamer slang to be found.

Also as good as Mu’s dub voice is, it doesn’t beat him having the same Japanese voice as Dio.

kira survived the explosion because lacus pusspuss so good it has double 0 powers and she teleported and saved his ass then teleported to space, how tf you think she keeps gta'ing gundams...flays pusspuss good too but not powers. flays pusspuss allowed kira to dominate the first half of seed without any training. but thisis also why athrun washed kira, kira on flays old ass pusspuss is nothing compared to athrun on lacus pusspuss. but after being saved by lacus pusspuss teleporting powers, he was able to obtain some of that lacus nunu pusspuss, thats why he dominated the rest of seed. and since then he was continutiy to that lacus pusspuss and ascended to what we refer as kira christ yamato in seed destiny. this also eplains why shin was so randomly so good too cause luna maria pusspuss is up there in scaling too. shit man how you think fking nooblaflaga or whatever his bthcass name is survived, its cause that aged maru rammius pusspuss got that power too. lacus is the real main character in this series. her pusspuss so good she literally has a random ass gang of mofos in space that like build and steals shit ffor her which ultimately helped them win the war. lacus pusspuss the real hero. fk soft ass kira, fk weak ass athrun fk cagali no power up pusspuss. see everyone that got no pusspuss play fkn died such as the nichol dude, the 3 craycray pilots that was on drugs, the fake maru rammius that died with that evil dude, and kiras weak ass friend that flew a plane in a gundam series. anime logic, you get that good pusspuss you survive

It’s been almost 20 years since I’ve watched Seed and Destiny.
I remember the key bits but wanted a refresher before seeing freedom next month so I appreciate the videos.

I just started re-watching this for the first time since it first aired on cartoon Network 20 years ago and no I don't have the remaster I went out of my way to get the DVDs

I got to say one of my favorite things so far and I know it doesn't last is how they reversed the Gundam team and that the Gundam team is the protagonists

God the dub for this show is really not good….

You're pronouncing the names how they were in remastered, Lacus is actually pronounced Lack-Us like you noted

I think your issue's with the pilots of the Raider, Forbidden, and Calamity has to do with the new dub, in the old Ocean Group dub, they arent nearly as annoying, and Clotho doesn't say such dumb lines like "noob" and "we beat the boss"

Call me a sucker, but SEED is my favorite Gundam series. It mostly has something to do with the setting, since I'm a sucker for war stories mingled with romance. Hell I started watching this because Kira and Lacus apparently become a thing.

Funny 2002 also saw the release of another reboot of a franchise that massively revitalized the success of said franchise, and it was also an anime, transformers armada

I am sure someone else addressed this, but there is something that is left unstated about Flay. That she is actually younger than the other characters on the ship. The others are all sixteen whereas she is only fourteen. Really makes that scene with her and Kira together a little more squicky doesn't it? Anyway that was that. The biggest thing about SEED mode is that is an increase in complete Spatial Awareness itself. As for how Kira survived, the manga for the series does a bit to fill in that hole, by basically revealing there was a side hatch to the SEED that Kira was able to scramble out of and fall down the ridge line and out to see before the suit blew up. Also in some of the earliest drafts, that was actually supposed to be the point where Kira died and the series refocused to follow on Athrun, but...yeah...there was as much drama behind the scenes as appeared on screen.

I just finished SEED yesterday and I absolutely loved it. I was enjoying myself the first half of the anime but I was completely enthralled once the second half started. While I don't think I would put it on the same level as Zeta, The Origin, or Unicorn (some of my favorites) it was so fun to watch. I'm a little scared of SEED Destiny though... I just started that one and definitely know the reputation. Wish me luck.

the "seed mode" is more that the user just stops thinking and focuses all their efforts on fighting and surviving. less of a super power and more that theyre so hyper focused that nothing else matters, in the original its hinted that kira killing nikol was party the fault of this ability. and there are 2 versions of him surviving athruns kamikaze. the firs is the blast shutter which has ben all but disproven. the second and more accepted version is that when he realized athruns plan he bailed out like athrun did, but was more injured because he was closer to the blast,ether washing up on the reverends shore or being taken there by the side character of one of the spinoff stories

i was browsing netflix and saw gundam seed and gundam seed destiny and i got so excited. but the voice actors didnt sound the same and i was not enjoying it. at first i thought that it was my nostalgia goggles, but i looked into it and they did a remaster with different cast members. i got about 5 episodes in and had to stop. they should be embarrassed from their work. i wonder if i can find the original online. the remaster is just awful voice acting.
