Meghalaya MDC Poll Results: NPP Loses Grip on KHADC as VPP Sweeps 17 Seats

The Voice of the People Party (VPP) has emerged as a Dark Horse in the recently conducted elections to the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) and the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC). VPP has emerged as the clear majority in the KHADC securing 17 seats and an important player in the JHADC winning 8 seats.

The VPP’s victory comes as a dramatic political shift in the KHADC. The party secured 17 seats and eliminating Congress, BJP, and KHNAM from the race. The results mark a stunning electoral breakthrough for VPP, reshaping the political landscape of the district councils.
The United Democratic Party secured 5 seats, while the ruling NPP was restricted to 4 seats.
