Great idea for a video! I would love a tutorial on your eye look! I have been trying to get an eye look like that on me for forever and it never turns out! Do you think you could share your technique? I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you for all you do ❤!
ОтветитьI love ELF skincare and all of their products, I've used L'Oreal for a long time. Maybelline and Wet n Wild too. I was thinking about how perfect your blush looks. It's great knowing some of your favorites and what was a miss. I've enjoyed the video and your look is pretty and soft. Thanks so much Emily and we love you too. It's wonderful not to have to break the budget just to shop for makeup.❤✌🌹💐
ОтветитьLoved this video idea Emily!!
Ответить❤ thank you for everything you do, and for spreading so much kindness
Ответить❤❤❤
ОтветитьI have been shocked at how many Elf products are now #1 in my makeup routine! I’m packing for vacation, and most of my makeup is from Elf!!
ОтветитьI know you can’t walk in to the drugstore and purchase, but it’s Moira for me. I have so many go to Moira products, very affordable and quality it there. As well as a good product, I want decent packaging. L’Oréal hits that, I don’t mind the price.
ОтветитьI love Milani, NYX, & ColourPop as well. I agree with most you mentioned, though i only use cruelty-free, so sadly, I can't use a couple.
ОтветитьTerrific video on drugstore cosmetics!!
ОтветитьI love your look today. You look so fresh and natural!
ОтветитьI heard ELF is raising their prices by a $1 on all their products. 🙄
ОтветитьI feel like drugstore eyeshadow are low bc it's still clean girl makeup. Once that changes I'm sure they will bring eyeshadow in. I remember the loreal hip duo shadows from back when I was in high school. Those were my faves and highly pigmented I feel like they were trying to keep up with MAC single shadows
ОтветитьDid you see Covergirl has a new tinted SPF foundation. Yeah I ordered it. Can’t wait to try it.
ОтветитьEmily I agree with you 100%. The first 2 you mentioned I thought of as well while I was watching. When you said WNW I was "Oh yeah" and then I was wondering what would be in the last 2 spots. I thought you were going to mention NYX. Essence, I always go to for their mascara and stay and play eyeliner. Lately I've been enjoying their lip oils also.
ОтветитьHi Emily unfortunately I don't have any affordable reliable brands because I have very specific skin needs😢. I am ultra pale and extremely cool toned so I really struggle with shade matching in most brands tbh. The only "affordable" brands who offer a shade match are Revolution and Sephora house brand (0.5 and 03P respectively). My most reliable brand is high end for that reason and it's Dior. I have a PERFECT shade match in 00 from them and have a couple of excellent foundations, a great concealer and a beautiful lavender powder from them. I love their nine pan backstage eye palettes for my 53 year old eyes and they have good cheek and lip options. I should mention I am extremely dry skinned with rosacea and eczema plus menopausal, so I demand a lot from my complexion products tbh.
I will buy affordable liners, mascara, lip products and colour cheek products from many affordable brand (I really like Catrice for lips btw), but complexion tends to always be higher end. Revolution is so hit and miss for me, which is a shame as it's so easily accessible here in the UK.
Undertone is also a big issue even in colour products as I pull everything orange (affordable and high end). This makes it challenging finding things I really love - they are out there, but more challenging to find. Where I have had success in finding cool toned colour products at affordable prices is K beauty makeup - great cool toned options and excellent quality for the price buys. Best wishes x
My top 5 drugstore brands are
1. Elf
2. Loreal
3. Maybelline
4. Wet n Wild
5. Nyx
I need to start trying Milani again. I will say this, with the way these drugstore products are coming in hot, I don't even feel the need to look to high-end brands anymore
I’m watching and you’re about to mention the fifth brand. I think you’ll say Hard Candy except I’m not sure about their lip products or foundations. Let’s see what the fifth brand is….
Edit: ohhhhhhh, so glad you picked Catrice!!!!!! I only have two of their products (skin tint and glow), but I’d like to try more.
I would love to see a video of a full face of Catrice products — or an updated one in case you’ve done that before and I missed it.
ОтветитьThis brand for me would be Essence. I love that they stay on top of trends at an affordable price. Their formulas are unmatched and they have an excellent rewards program. They’re such an underrated company with so many holy grails in the makeup community.
ОтветитьEmily, I love your look today — the nude lip combo is chef’s kiss!!
ОтветитьLove love ELF!
ОтветитьI love the Lifter glosses! I just wish the packaging was different. I get so much all over the threading and collar of the tube. So messy, so fast.😬
ОтветитьThanks for this, Emily! I love the Catrice True Skin concealer--which i found because of you! So good on my 60+ eyes. Everything else just looks like a cakey mess.
ОтветитьShout out for Catrice! I love the brand and, like you, wish it were more accessible. Always fun, though, to get that box of products you ordered. 💄🖌🪞
Ответитьe.l.f. just announced they are raising all prices by $1.00. They really aren't very affordable any longer, unfortunately.
Ответитьtalking about prices going up, have you seen the Oil of Olay serum for $49.99 at target? Insane. Thanks for the tips!
ОтветитьThe most overpriced, overrated brands.
ОтветитьThis is such a cool idea for a video!!
ОтветитьI can do most of my face with NYX—love their brow products, the serum concealer, their eyeliner pencil (in the wood casing), the butter melt blushes, their classic lip liner (again, in the wood casing), and of course, their butter glosses.
ОтветитьMy favorite drugstore products (age60) Maybelline and Milani (great video
ОтветитьEssence Makeup Curl Fixing Lash Base . Have you tried this Emily?
ОтветитьI wouldn’t have counted L’Oréal in this. Their products smell too strong for my migraines. Their eyeshadows break me out. I just haven’t found any gems there. I have better luck with milani. That’s who I would sub in. Wet n wild and maybelline are my go to though. Fabulous products
ОтветитьThis is interesting…I hope you plan to follow up with Catrice. I’ve never used anything from them and would like to learn more now! No doubt you’ve mentioned this brand before but I haven’t followed up. I have to say that I did go for a few Rimmel items based on your experience and I am very satisfied so thanks for that too!
ОтветитьGood morning Em. I'm traveling over the summer and have a couple super long flights ahead. What travel makeup products do you recommend? ❤ Thx so much 🤗
ОтветитьI kept waiting for Covergirl to be mentioned! So many products I love
ОтветитьI love your new eyeshadow looks
ОтветитьI really miss the Elf single shadows!!
ОтветитьI think of the "flagship" (i.e. L'Oreal, Maybelline, Covergirl, Revlon, etc) drugstore brands struggle in the eyeshadow department! It's a thinker as to why...🤔
I love e.l.f., wet n wild, & Colourpop! I've loved Colourpop eyeshadows for a while, but have recently started branching out to other products and haven't met one that didn't perform the way it was intended.
I've liked the few things I've tried from Catrice and Essence, but they aren't readily available in stores which makes me forget about them tbh.
My good idea? I talk ask my cousin she know self military us do . Myself know r.v. camp . My true story ? I don't tell. Woman's deaf and man's deaf sign language and I can't hear ...
ОтветитьI know... I saw don't tell he face grow up a story? I talk teacher woman deaf I know story ? My good idea r.v. camp?
ОтветитьI’m going to add Colourpop to list. It’s very rare that that they miss. Their eyeshadows are great, palettes and super shocks. They are a good price too. I love the Pretty Fresh line. The Pretty Fresh foundation is one of my favorites. Great lip products. Just overall a great brand.
ОтветитьPlease share your shade in the LOREAL infallible concealer ❤
ОтветитьA suggestion, if you don't have eyeshadows with serums you can use blush to give color to the entire eyelid and you can even use two different colors and it works very well, because the blush dries and they remain like a powder texture, on many occasions I use a matte lipstick for the cheeks, lips and eyes if I don't have other makeup with me and it looks very good! It looks very natural but with color, or a blush for cheeks, eyes and lips.
ОтветитьEm, how come you never discuss Almay? I never hear about them but they are in the drugstore. Have you ever tried them? Will you? I never hear about Clinique from you either…. Not drugstore, but curious about them. Thanks.
ОтветитьYou look so beautiful 🤩 Love this look!
ОтветитьThat sounds like a precious memory too me; Rhett on the playground with all his friends. Now that school is out the family can watch the Watons tv series. Y'all will love it. God bless you and yours.💩✝️🕊️♥️
ОтветитьElf and Wet n Wild are the only ones in this list that provide decent eyeshadow options. The only affordable brand that is producing really good eyeshadow is ColourPop, but they are lacking in other categories.
ОтветитьI feel this way about wet n wild & elf ❤❤❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьThe other plus about the brands that you mentioned is the fact that if you find something that you love they are, for the most part, not going to discontinue entire lines like some companies. I have fallen for the Holy Hydration cleansing balm from ELF. Takes off my entire face of makeup without drying the skin. I am having a moment not finding it in stores (or only one or two on the shelf), but they continue to carry the product - just checked online.
I am having an issue with a flare up of eczema on my face at the moment, but the balm doesn't irritate the affected area.
Emily, I love your makeup today. It looks so nice on you. I really enjoy your videos
