Amp Distortion vs Pedal Distortion

Some people proffer pedal distortion, others proffer amp distortion, which camp are you in? For this video I am comparing the distortion from my 2 Channel Mesa Solo Head against 4 different stomp box distortions (Boss DS-1, Proco RAT, JHS Angry Charlie and the Mesa V Twin preamp) through a clean amp (my Fender Deluxe Reverb). This video was the last to be shot in my old studio, onward and upwards!
