Introduced in 1997, the Ford Expedition is a full size body on frame 3 row SUV derived from Ford’s F150 light duty truck line. Replacing the 2 door full size bronco the Expedition competes directly with GM’s Tahoe/ Yukon, Suburban/ XL plus other full size options from Japan such as the Nissan Armada and Toyota Sequoia.

Offered in a long wheel base (since 2007) to compete with GMs long wheel base variants the Expedition offers multiple trim levels but since 2015 only 1 (with multiple power options) engine option has been offered- a twin turbo v6, while the GM models still offer multiple V8 and even a diesel option.

The Expedition has gone through 4 generations with a new 5th gen scheduled to launch in 2025.
