With just power on the poe failure I would look for a poe power safety fuse that is blown.

I think Ubiquity has expanded into tooo many different product lines. They make / made great wireless networking products but they have started to reduce that product line to the detriment to all that use those products. They have stopped making the 900 Mhz gear and they have also stopped making the international version of their 3.4 Ghz radios. The "international" 3.4 Ghz radio covers the amateur radio spectrum and is used by a lot of people for VOIP repeater linking because it is free of all the other license-free noise. In the last couple of years they have pretty much given the people in their customer on line forums the middle finger when they give feedback about a product. They have just LOST THEIR WAY.

their definition of "outdoor" in AP's, having taken mine apart did not instill confidence in Ubiquiti's build quality; still using them but I custom built enclosures and don't really consider their switches a first choice as a result... strictly speaking from a hobby perspective; all bought used, my first managed switch that was a d-link was pretty standard issue consumer/prosumer build quality(recapped it when I bought it added better cooling), HP stuff I've opened seems built well(opened one of their 24 port poe, 48 gigabit), currently using a Juniper EX3300-48P(48 port gigabit poe, 4x 10gbe sfp+) which also seems nice so far

I was just about to get one of the $600 24 port Ubiquiti PoE switches but you may have talked me out of it. I've used POE Texas Power Injectors with my MikroTik switches for a couple of years and I wanted to make my rack prettier so I was thinking of the all-in-one type Ubiquiti switch since I like the controller dashboard. Maybe I'll stick with separate power and a non PoE switch.

I am done with Ubiquiti, purchased their inwall pro access points at great cost just to be told a year later they are being discontinued. The non-pro’s are still supported and are of the same era, explain that? They are in the same ball park as Sonos audio, expensive devices that are redundant in a short period of time. My 10+ year old netgear prosumer 16 port POE switch still goes strong and got an update not so long ago. At Least Sonos gives you a 30% discount if you “deactivate” the old device and buy a new one. Still not great.

I've had my 3 netgear switches for 4 years without a single issue. Two being a standard 24 port 1 gig switch and the other a four port 10 gig switch. Hopefully you have better luck with netgear!

I have had 2 Edgeswitches fail over the past 2 years, the bigger impact was that there was the older 24v AP's on the other end and the big issue was trying to get a replacement switch quickly to get wifi back online, made me realise the benefit of updating the AP's to the newer POE+ models :) Thank you

It might be worth getting the issue diagnosed with the box as it could be a simple fix such as an overheating component gone kaput.

We had a Edgeswitch 24 port POE switch go out also bringing down all the UBNT cameras. The computers and APs were connected to Cisco POE switches and I had the 14 cameras on the UBNT Switch. In my case, we just had random yellow and red lights lit up on the ethernet ports. Switch was brain dead. Tried factory resetting it and everything. No go. Simply replaced with a Cisco switch. In the past 18 years, I've been deploying a mix of Cisco and UBNT gear. I've had 1 UBNT switch go out and a couple of ERL. On the Cisco side, only had a 3 fans die. One 48 port Cisco switch did go out and brought down 45 access points in an apartment building. The switch went down because the renovation guys decided to cut live network cables shorting out the ports.

Who ever setup that network room and did the cabling should be FIRED ASAP! what a mess! 100$ says the termination on the other end caused a short and killed the switch !
