I love my Pelikans too, I do wish they wrote a bit drier than they do. Jinhao 10, love it I now have 7 LOL!
I would highly recommend a Visconti Homo Sapien, because mine wrote perfect out of the box. If you love that Pelikan, I think you would love a Homo Sapien... I hear that Visconti is now doing their own in house nibs. I would be leary of buying a used Homo Sapien, but not a brand new one. If you buy a used one, just be sure to save a bit more for the repair if needed...

I definitely recommend Kirk Speer’s Imperial and the Franklin-Christoph’s SIG nibs as your first nib grinds because chef’s kiss I personally love them so much I almost want to use those nibs exclusively all the time~
