How about a high vibration sound that old trucks would make when they break in a slop a big brrrrrrrrp sound when we apply hug amount of break to the flywheel

I know i’m a bit late but Porsche announced that they are releasing an engine that has 6-strokes, 2 more than a regular combustion 4-stroke. never heard what that would sound like, can i hear it in the sim, preferably a flat 6?

this is really interesting, the sound the piston on wall makes sounds like a train on rails or being really close to a modern 4-6 cylinder engine, thats because the piston on walls in your game sounds EXACTLY like a piston in a cylinder rubbing dry with no oil.

forgive me if I'm wrong but I felt there was a certain level of realism to the high frequency screech sound before it got low pass filtered out. maybe for that specific source it doesn't make sense but aren't there somewhat regular microscopic hills and valleys in the surface of two metal surfaces that produce a high pitch squeal when they rub together? like when a train comes to a stop I don't imagine sand paper white noise, I think of high pitch screeching. brilliant progress though this man is very good at high accuracy physics based simulation.

I wonder how accurately this sim can reproduce the sound from Titanic's triple expansion engine. Imagine experiencing her heart beat in 21st century, the most hypnotic rhythm imo.

Hey, I was thinking about real time sound simulation and figured out that it's very complicated and computation-expensive. Thanks for sharing!
What about different impact sounds? I noticed that Half-Life 2 approach is quite interesting amongst other FPS games, because it takes in account a force of impact and the material, but not generates sound - it takes one of pre-made sounds.

two things i'd personally want to see (or hear)

1. some sort of clank, kind of like rod clank, but i'm not sure that'd be applicable here so, that's optional
2. make it so that when the reverser is at some state closer to neutral, make the fact that the engine WILL go faster, considering the pressure and how it has to squeeze through a tinier hole than if it was at full forward/backward.

if i said something wrong do correct me, i wouldn't mind.

Why is the steam engine of the video different from the one of the demo on Steam?
Why didn't you update it on Steam if you chaged it in your videos?
Also, it's funny that the steam engine simulator is on Steam.

THIS is the kind of simulation that would need a quantum computer to be able to calculate many factors at the same time and thus have an incredible framerate.

Okay, the sound effects in the sound demo near the end of the video were seriously impressive. You nailed it, especially the reverb. The whistle is so satisfying.

It could be pretty interesting if you could offer some tool/library( paid) that game devs can use. Not a game dev myself but I think this could be pretty useful especially if it has minimal performance impact
