I'd like to point out a few things on the S320 CDI. It might be tempting because of it's fuel economy, but the diesel engine is a lot more complex and parts usually cost more. Mainly problems with the injectors which either get clogged up (if you do a lot of city driving) or start leaking (simply because of old age and/or bad fuel quality, like in eastern Europe where I live), both issues can cause serious problems if left unattended. I drive a BMW with a very simmilar 3 litre turbodiesel engine and got quoted the equivalent of £220 per injector by BOSCH which in my opinion is ridiculous. Also the turbocharger, which no W220 petrol engine has, can be costly to repair/replace, along with all of the other extras the turbodiesel engine comes with like intercooler, EGR, 5 million vacuum lines, glow plugs and module, high pressure fuel pump and so on.

I spotted your wallet sitting in the opening where the cupholder used to be. It's a $60 pop-up, fold out, assembly that snaps into that compartment under the pivoting wood cover.
Two cupholders slide out from the rear seat armrest and are a little more secure.

I sold my dad's 2015 S63 coupe a couple of months ago having only done 40K miles. He's switching to electric for his daily commute. It was the most opulent and beautifully put together cars I've ever been lucky to sit in. Everyday I keep thinking that I should've kept it, but I don't do a lot of miles myself so it had to go.

Definitely use a Mercedes specialist and try to buy one with the most complete service history you can find with Mercedes dealers or specialists - excellent advice. This can be cheap, fantastic motoring. The W140 is better made, but wider and more ungainly. Lots of great advice on this video. Style wise, these cars are colour sensitive - silver looks best.

My dad bought one in 2000, now I own it. I drive it every day. It's an old man's car and I'm 32 years old and although I have a 2021 Mercedes I prefer the old man.
It has 100,000 miles. And it only had two owners.

I have an older 2003 S class. Im just about to cross over the 200k mark. Been such a wonderful car, really just sublime.

Cup holders are in the front arm rest, bit fiddly to access but decent and two.

just bought an s280 1999 for £900, I simply cant believe the refinement, an absolute steal!

The cupholder is notoriously flimsy. Yours is apparently missing, comes out of the smaller compartment if the armrest. Clean the soft touch surfaces with alcohol cleaner, you don't need those anyways. It will get rid of the sticky

I am here searching for something to hold me back from selling my fat big 2012 GL to this unbelievably good looking early 2000s S-Class. I've owned more than 10 Mercedes Benzs such as W210 W211 W126 W221 R230 and much more so, as a Benzer I've had pretty good DIY experience in maintine it and I pairly take it for maintince or to another hand to fix it.. so I's still wondering about this awesome W220 which always had my heart beats evertime i see one passing by.

I don’t know whether to be absolutely terrified right now or not! I bought a 2001 S430 110k miles and it has some issues rides and drives fantastic. And for 1500 bucks if it shits the bed, well I guess I got what I paid for.

From what ive read, when they facelifted these, they simplified some of the electronics. Which was better.

I drive a S500L from 2003 and I will never understand, why everybody complains about the window switches 😂 they are so easy to reach! I never thought, that they are too far away

W220 only has one battery! It’s the CL that has two batteries!

I was a chauffeur, had the S430 LWB V8 version and it was easily the best car Ive ever owned. So refined, beautiful & quiet and outside of normal servicing didnt cost a penny! I now drive a ML55
