I've been wanting to build a two tiered pond with waterfall on my property for koi but, I'm in South Carolina. Though we don't have quite as many alligators as Florida, we do have them and getting more all the time. My biggest worry is that there is a small pond down the road from me, only about 3 acres from me, that I know has gators in it. My husband and I have both seen one in it. A 3-5 footer. If there are babies then there is a breeding pair. I have heard the bellows at night and my neighbors closer to the pond have seen the adults. So, being so close, I'm afraid that so may have "visitors ". I don't want to have to fence it off because of the looks but I may not have e a choice if I want the fish ponds. 😢😊
