Blame lies with Ubisoft.
In the first 2 years of Siege, many meta changing operators were released. Buck, Valkyrie, Capitao, Hibana, Mira, Ying and Lesion.
This allowed teams with good Coaches and Analysts to design new strats that would surprise the opposition.
The last two years not much. Maestro and Maverick maybe. Operators with global abilities, Finka, Lion, Dokkaebi did not improved the quality of play.
The map pool has not changed for a long time. New maps have not been put into rotation due to their terrible design.
Tower ? Villa ? New Hereford Base ? Fortress ? Outback ? New Kanal ? Give me a break.
Same map pool means no new strats. No new surprises.
All this has allowed other teams to catch up with G2.
Dropping Jonas and Goga could not solve these root causes.

G2 has been known for their clutch potential. Alot of times that comes down to smart movement along with lucky timing. They weren't clutching because the competition nowadays is on to their maneuvering. If Pengu killed dude outside protecting diffuser this whole thing could've been different. A shotgun would've won that.

Does anybody know why teams have been setting up deployable shields to face towards the site? I just can’t place my finger on why they would do that.

G2 doesn’t care about the regular pro season anymore, they’ve said that. They care about winning SI because that’s where the money is. I feel like they maybe slacked during the season and didn’t expect the international level of play they came across here

Well with roster changes and the rise of many teams, can't said G2 is bad at the game, even Empire failed to keep its' position as 2nd. The future definitely will be more than 2 teams competing for the top.

I know he lost that post plant, but his plant counter denial was brilliant, people don’t appreciate that he really thought of that in a matter of a second. Also not his fault flashbangs are broken af, smoke should’ve been blinded it literally landed next to him.
My only concern is if he still had a drone in his pocket? This new spectator view was new and buggy back then.
