That's the night I became a Mercer fan for life. I was young that's right when I started getting into boxing. Mercer's was a tough guy. He didn't touch the mat until his 36th fight against Klitschko after his 2 year lay off. He ko'd the former UFC Heavyweight champion Sylvia too 😂

Joe Hipp was tough but they way he crumbled there in the 9th round was epic. Morrison may not have had the strongest chin but you have to give him credit for toughing it out in fights like this and against Carl Williams.

Joe Hipp was a lot of fun to watch. Always a fan favorite. Never in a dull fight. Gave Tommy all he could handle until he faded. Hipp had the heart of a lion but just didnt punch hard enough to slow down a puncher like tommy.😮

I really liked Tommy. Sorry he didn't get a better ending, both personally and professionally. On a pure boxing level he was always fun to watch. Flawed but powerful.

His widow had fought for years to clear his name of the AIDS diagnosis, and said that mugshot of him looking pretty bad was after he had gotten out of jail and was ill from a brown recluse spider bite.
I watched the interview of her...it was pretty sad.

Sad how Morrison's life ended, he looked nothing like his young self and the sad part, is that his story isn't much of a surprise with how the night life can do to a fighter along with the involvement of drugs and sex. The Duke's comparison before to Mike Tyson, unfortunately was almost parallel with their lifestyle on top...but a far worse of a fate for Morrison. RIP Tommy 'The Duke' Morrison 🥊
