And it was English civilisation by the name of William Wilberforce who brought the practice to an end in all the lands they had control over and gave an example for the world to follow.
ОтветитьUmm. I’m pretty sure there were ancient Egyptians who were opposed to it too.
ОтветитьConor Hollingsworth?
ОтветитьSo how true is it that Achaemenid Persia had no (or almost no) slavery?
ОтветитьIn its early days Rome was a sanctuary city offering freedom to run away slaves who made it there it was to boost its population and didn't last long
ОтветитьWhat about the servile wars.
ОтветитьSpartacus
ОтветитьThe American South calls itself the Bible Belt. They claim to follow Jesus. Jesus tells them to love their neighbors and be kind to one another but instead they use the words of the Bible to justify their hate, bigotry and racism. Donald Trump knew all he had to do was spew hate, bigotry and racism and his followers would vote for him. Trump's followers are just disappointed Trump didn't sign an executive order to bring back slavery. The people of the South in America pass on their hate, bigotry and racism from generation to generation. They are hypocrites just like the religious leaders of Jesus' time. Jesus called them hypocrites and snakes and a brood of vipers.
ОтветитьFirst recorded argument against slavery? False. Cyrus the great outlawed slavery 800 years before this guy
ОтветитьSlavery was necessary to escape hunter-gathering. With basic survival being a full time job, cities could not be built and tools couldnt be made, slavery was a way for work to be done while others could have free time to do other things like learn or create etc… theres a reason it was seen as barbaric and ancient even more than a thousand years ago. We progressed past slavery when the advances gained because of it allowed us too.
ОтветитьAlso I believe the quite a few stoics were against slavery as well quite a few of them being slaves including Epictetus.
ОтветитьBible says slaves and servents had to accept their condition as work well.
ОтветитьPersians-the Achaemenid empire-outlawed slavery!
ОтветитьThe first weatern*. The Qin Dynasty, who conquered the Warring States and Unified China in 221 BC, were vocal abolitionists. The Persians also left a lot of antislavery art and politically positioned themselves as liberators which incentivised the lower classes of neighboring powers to choose to support the encroaching Persians during war.
ОтветитьSpartacus be like: am i a joke to you?
ОтветитьTremendous guest, thanks for having him on
ОтветитьCyrus the Great, who banned slavery six centuries before Christ: 🤡
