I think luffy would do everything almost identical to gon. They have very similar mindsets, naïve but determined, they were both raised in similar circumstances in a very wild, remote place and have similar worlds in terms of the amount and strength of wild creatures that they would've encountered. they are also both constantly praised for their ability to turn people to their side. The only difference is Gon being liked basically instantly by all animals, but even then Luffy isn't disliked by them and has tamed animals to help him in some cases. Also gon can fish I guess.

two things you've neglected to mention about joseph and jotaro are their physiques.
and i don't mean that in terms of strength and speed, that shit is screwy in anime anyway, but the simple fact that joseph and jotaro are six foot five and shredded gives them reach and weight advantage in many confrontations that should not be underestimated. having longer arms and legs is an obvious advantage but due to the extra weight they also have more inertia and more friction with the ground, allowing them to get way more out of the same level of strength than gon ever could.
especially jotaro should be like four times the weight of gon, that difference is significant.

Honestly, i feel like Hammon could probably be equated to Nen. Joseph would probably have control of basic forms of nen like Ten and Zetsu, tho he wouldn't understand them and wouldn't be able to create his own application without training

Its a bit goofy to say "ill use their first arc version" but arbitrarily take Luffy's DF when he's already using it in chapter 1, while many hadnt developed nen yet, some had, and Luffy representing a "ive got a hatsu but no experience as a hunter" application would be a fairer look

Yeah Luffy would not be able to answer the question correctly but he would inspire the person asking to believing he could save them both. Thats who the character is in a nutshell

yusuke are taking exam if we count his physical stats in season 2 and 3 then yes he pass exam but not season yusuke physical stats

Honestly Luffy wouldn’t even making it to the Exam. Deku might fail the question too because he’s a hero type. Yuji is a maybe. But even then there’s no way Luffy would pass, maybe he makes it through the tower with brute force but the badge trial? He would lose his instantly or just never find his target. Might say the same for Yuji or Deku cause they lack the skills to hunt/track so it’s entirely luck if they even find their badge. Really the Exam is a lot harder than most of them can handle cause it’s not testing just their strength

I have a feeling like some of the characters on this list e.g Izuku have a chance to fail purely based of their moral compas causing issues. Gon allowing killua to kill and also allowing hisoka and illumi to kill to give himself a chance to steal the badge numbers was crucial. Izumi would immediately try stop hisoka and pre quirk would be wrapped.

Yusuke goes from one of, if not the weakest... then becomes one of the strongest of them when they are all end game.

Removing powers of characters is just dumb.
Killua wasnt born with his skills he was trained. Just as gon wasnt born with them either. Their environment made them strong. Just as the environment luffy was in gave him the devil fruit. So removing powers just cause they werent born with it does not apply for any characters other than goku
