This is correct ✅ the binge/deficit connection = it’s definitely the unhealthy mindset over food that hinders any progress.
I think if you practice fasting you do improve your relationship with food and see it for what it is - fuel 👍🏻

Is the calorie calculator accurate while using intermittent fasting? I'm 400 pounds and am trying to lose weight. It says I should eat something like 2700 calories a day and that seems excessive to me. I started IF this Monday and have been eating around 1700 to around 2000. Do you think I'm cutting too many or not enough?

6 months of 22:2 fasting. It’s a definite game changer, started doing it originally for weight loss but now it’s the mental clarity and convenience of it that I’m addicted to. People don’t talk too much about the mental benefits.

You do naturally eat less when fasting. Slowly build your fast. Never in my 53 year life have I thought I could possibly go beyond a few hours without eating, I only started 6 weeks ago and have done 2 24 hour fasts. The first one was a little more draining, but never felt hungry. I figured my sodium was getting low. The second, I throw some salt on my dinner, and wow, it was less draining and could have gone much longer, but my partner put milk and not my usual creme in my coffee and within an hour of drinking it, I was famished. Cut the high glycemic carbs, and fasting becomes easy. Body odor and breath changes as you become more fat adapted.

One thing that many people fear, including myself is the loss of strength; because it took so much damned hard work and time to get to where you are now. The great thing is, the body has protective mechanisms to keep lean body mass and burn fat. Fasting also fixes insulin resistance that seriously limits muscle growth and your ability to train.

Hi Mark, thank for bringing that to our attention. A couple years ago I was doing 16/8 and I was restricting calories during the eating period. I was happy because I lose 40 pounds in three months but then I couldn't stop eating, I put 50 pounds back.
I started doing your way and it is easy and healthy. I have been losing weight in a healthy way and I feel great.
Thank you so much.

In second month of IF . I was regularly checking my weight in early weeks. Then I stopped doing considering weight loss is not a motivation any more!! I am feeling light and trousers and t shirts which I kept aside , I started wearing 😊
If you want see the results you need to do it and consistent 👍🏻👍🏻

I think I fall in the calorie deficit pattern of eating when doing IF. But started tracking my macros to see how much I eat has helped me become more balanced. You are so right. Balance is the key and you are the first person I've come across out here in cyber world passionately talking about it. Thanks man!

Great video!
Been doing IF myself for over 3 months and it has changed my relationship to food as fuel. I am now more aware of what I eat, I appreciate food more.
I started IF mainly for health reasons so I don't weight myself but I can visibly see the drastic fat loss, I definitely feel much healthier, physically and mentally.
I started with 16/8, then gradually moved to 20/4 weekdays and 18/6 weekends.

I eat carnivore. Supplement with quality multivitamin, 5grams fish oil, 2 tablespoons of coconut oil, tablespoon MCT oil, and vitamin D. I go 20/4 eating at 4 and 8pm. Mon. - Fri. Sat. 18/6 noon meal and 6pm. Dinner. Sunday I cook brunch for the family 10am and eat again 6pm. Easy to follow. Muscle gains and weight loss fantastic...

This guy is spot on. IF is great when done properly. It also become easier as times goes on. What has worked for me is planning my meal way in advance so I know exactly what I am going to eat at the break of the fast. He is also spot on in that when you first start doing IF it is so easy to go into binge mode when you break the fast. Guilty as charged as I got caught in that trap a few times. The key is to make sure your fast break is a good quality meal. I find protein combined with fats works best. My go to is an Egg White omelette with turkey and avocado and a good hot sauce.

Get past the old hang ups with food.... gotta kick the carbs or else you will get hungry early. I am in a once a day meal schedule and after a month I am no longer hungry until my meal time.... then I am hungry and eat as much as I can but get full very quickly.

Good sensible tips. I'm currently on IF to drop my BF to 10%. I eat relatively clean 90% of the time. The remaining 10% allows me to indulge a little to keep me sane and get in a bit more calories to fuel my workouts

love the comment-'you're not a dog, you don't need a treat'. I'm in a weight loss group and the amount of times I see people eating absolute crap-usually sugar laden- and calling it a treat, possibly undoing their previous hard work in the process. ..it drives me mad (although their choices are basically none of my business!)

I've just had enough of the 3 hourly meal timings and can't seem to work around this. I'm switching to IF but will not eating for such long periods stunt my metabolism? The general understanding is that eating every 2/3 hrs boosts metabolism so will IF in the long run be detrimental to metabolism? Thanks...
