The biggest gripe I had about historical accuracy was from mission one. 2 soldiers are talking about the mighty 88 and how it can destroy planes and tanks with equal ease and they are so fortunate to have them and then you turn the corner and they are standing next to a Flakvierling. And then later in the game you come across 88s so they are modeled and in the game and could have been used.
ОтветитьI find it hysterical that in most cases, the spy's/sniper's mission is to infiltrate the base with the objective of collecting info and causing as much damage as possible in order to hinder the German war machine.
But in this case, the spy's/sniper's mission is to infiltrate the base with the objective of checking to make sure everything is historically accurate in its representation of the time period/regime in question.
*an
ОтветитьHonestly it a game. it was bound to have some inaccuracies
ОтветитьThose trenches in the first mission look way too wide, ofc this is probably for gameplay reasons
ОтветитьI am not a gamer, but whenever a new Sniper Elite comes out, i buy it.
ОтветитьCan't wait until we have games like this except it's against russia. A mission to kill putin would be amazing.
ОтветитьI think they consulted Ian McCollum from ForgottenWeapons on the gun's depiction in-game
ОтветитьYou should do a Part 2 for Sniper Elite 5
ОтветитьDon’t forget weren’t there some G43 variants that loaded with stripper clips too
Ответитьthe insignia on the kubelwagen appears to be a Schwere Panzer Aubteilung 510 division though its usually got the bear's tongue out. They probably just removed the tongue
ОтветитьWhy the mag pouches of the Kar98K for a Gewher 43 user makes sense as the standard doctrine for them is to just charge rounds into the mag using stripper clips rather than switching mags thus it makes sense for them to issue Gewher 43 rifles out to normal rifleman and let them keep their old webbing that fits stripper clips for the Kar98K.
The truck could be a massive spin on the Citroen T45 heavy truck with just extra axle. That truck was indeed used alot by the Germans to supplement their losses on the Opel Blitz during their invasion of Poland, France and the USSR.
That rifle you see on the resistance fighter's back at the forest hideout, that's the RSC 1917 also known as "Fusil Automatique Modele 1917". It's supposed to be one of the few semi-automatic rifles to be used on the Western Front during WWI and it did. It worked quite well for the complexity and massive of a joke of mismatched and mediocre weaponry for the French but that rifle worked rather well.
HOWEVER, it's quite inaccurate for it to be appearing in the French Resistance's hands even. As the rifle wasn't made in massive numbers, just about 86,000 made till the end of WWI and quite alot that wasn't damaged during the Interwars were taken by the Germans when they conquered France thus it slightly made no sense that the Resistance were even using the rifle that's quite hard to maintain without a proper factory making parts and also cumbersome to move around with as it's seriously damn long as a rifle rather than the MAS-36 and even the captured Kar98K. What was even funnier is that the in-game model is the RSC 1918 which wouldn't even make sense for the Resistance to have it as only 4000 of them were made and there's no way that they landed in their hands with the Germans taking everything from Petain's army. If you're talking about Sniper Elite 4 when he's in the desert fighting Rommel then yes, the rifle MIGHT be seen there being used by the Legionnaires or something because the RSC 1918 saw action during the Rif Wars in Morocco. In mainland France? Hardly possible for the Resistance to even get their hands on it.
The Fallschirmjager that you kill at the lab with the admirals had two error but you just mentioned one. The another error was his webbing. He was definitely carrying a StG-44 as shown on the ground but his webbing was wrong as his ammo pouch isn't a full magazine pouch but the standard Kar98K stripper clip pouches which won't work with the StG-44.
I've only played 4, which is set in Italy, helping the Partisans and OSS. I wasn't really looking at accuracy in uniforms, I'll admit, I was looking for the x-ray headshots.
Always the left eye, for some reason.
Loadout seemed to get stuck using the 1903 Springfield, Welrod and a certain '43 automatic rifle.
How I decided to watch this video at 1:30AM:
"Hm, do I really wanna listen to Animarchy rant about misrepresented uniforms and provide like 4 different warfare history lectures for an hour?... Yes."
Accurate gunners,or extremely lucky gunners. A lucky enemy can be just as deadly as an accurate one. Still one sunk sub.
ОтветитьIn the first uniform inspection I noticed that even the canteen is in line with the rest. It is the mit-cheap version with the smaller cup. Really nice 😊
ОтветитьMy great grad father brother sorved on a submarine in the pacific inW2 He would be 103 Now and I’m 11
ОтветитьI’m surprised they used the spicy pinwheel in this one. That’s usually a Nono even in media intended to be aiming for absolute historical accuracy.
ОтветитьThe sidearm holster is on the wrong side, I´m confused that nobody noticed
ОтветитьDid they have silenced pistol in ww2
ОтветитьWhat was doctrine for reloading the G43? because it could be excused that the 43 guy was using Kar pouches if doctrine was to load it with strippers
ОтветитьRegarding the Japanese Naval Uniforms - It looks like the medals are absolutely off the walls bat shit insane lmao. They both have American ARMY good conduct ribbons, as well as the USN/USMC Navy Cross????? 😭
Ответить"Spicy pinwheel" lol
ОтветитьAh yes, the Gottimus Prime belt buckle.
ОтветитьPlease do a video like this for the previous two games. They are very much worth your time and modeled to a similar level of accuracy. The opening of 3 even starts in Tobruk.
ОтветитьI’m about halfway through the video and they really should’ve paid you for this let’s play. Buying this tonight!
ОтветитьThe Vampire Jager you found, after you brought up the picture of the vampire sight, I think that box on the Jager's back is meant to the one in the photograph, probably houses the battery for sight.
ОтветитьMy biggest hangup with the game is: When you come ashore the submarine that dropped you off is submerging. You can stand there and watch them slip away Under the waves.
10 minutes later.... submarine takes an artillery hit.
Why did they surface? Dropped us off SECRETLY, COVERTLY to go and Silence the guns. Were they worried about us? Needed to keep an eye on what we're doing? Somehow that is OUR fault.
The German models were so precise and detailed because of having to animate the anatomical deconstruction of various body parts.
The American uniforms were given a hand wave treatment. We don't get to see THEIR kidneys explode, so why spend the extra time?
AAA game remember? "We've got a release date people, let's goooo!"
People i preach to out of love you accept christ into your heart and you WILL be saved for he love the world so much he sent his only son to die so that whoever belive will not perish but have eternal life in heaven you are not to far gone turn to christ REPENT of your sin confess christ as lord and savoir and him alone is the ways to heaven please i beg you turn to christ for salvation can not be earned only given as a gift by the lord jesus loves you,,..,,.
ОтветитьNothing like a Black Scottish woman randomly fighting in the middle of France. Totally realistic and respectful to the ones that actually died fighting in the war
ОтветитьAlso worth noting the Charlie character is played brilliantly by Lois Chimimba a real Glaswegian so refreshing from the usual fake accents in games .
ОтветитьYou reacted exactly as I did when that Kingtiger came out of the hedge row
ОтветитьYeah the SFC Rank on almost all US GI’s really bothers me. Still love this game tho
ОтветитьI don't know how historically accurate it is, but I do know that .45 ACP is naturally subsonic, meaning a suppressor would be at full effect even when using regular ammo.
I mean I guess it depends on the manufacturer and what kind of gunpowder is used and maybe some .45 ACP wouldn't be subsonic despite being branded as standard and yaddah yaddah, but whatever.
The Vichy government was technically the civilian government of all of France. But in practice it was only southern France. Even after Case Anton. Vichy propaganda was still distributed in the north as a way to try to give legitimacy to the Nazi occupation. It made it look like the French government supported Germany and all its actions.
Vichy France was probably one of Germany's worst allies. It couldn't be considered a puppet state. It really was an independent nation. Of course this made them completely unreliable. So it's no shocker they got their sovereignty revoked two years after being founded.
It only just occurred to me that Imperial officers in Star Wars depicted post Battle of Endor (in the old canon) wear green uniforms. This was obviously a parallel to the Germans changing their uniform material in the late war to cut costs.
ОтветитьOh boy. The Elon Musk bit aged like milk
ОтветитьThe boxes on the backs of the Vampir Jaegrs are the batteries for their vampir optics, which you can see in the real life photo.
ОтветитьMy theory is that they used all of the budget and time making the Germans look correct and when it came to the Americans, everyone ran out of Gamersupps.
ОтветитьEven as a kid I drew german WW2 stickfigures with that gas mask canister
ОтветитьOne thing I love about doing these. Is I am proficient in mainly aviation but I do have a general knowledge of all aspects of WW2. But when I miss something or don’t know something. Doing this summons my fellow autists from other areas of research who can correct or point things out I missed. Learning is collaborative lads!
