'A Hope in Hell' Fight Scene | The Sandman

This battle reminds me of the Wizard Duel scene in Sword of the Stone because it's the same kinda thing where they turn into different things to outwit each other.

The only way I can justify this fight and its outcome in my mind is by assuming that the only reason Lucifer does not say "despair" or "that's not fair, wouldn't hope eventually always win if it can literally defeat nothingness, meaning there would be nothing left to have it?" is because the Morningstar has hope themselves, and uses it to dream of one day retuning to heaven so does not want hope defeated. Still, I'd say that means the game is rigged either way, because how do you beat hope if that's true of you? 🤣
