They don't trust themselves to make the right decision. They feel what they don't know might contradict what they hold to be true. Having conviction in the Truthfulness of The Prophet and The Quran seems to be the path to attain conviction of the Truth.

This Muslim preacher distorts Islamic teachings. There's no death punishment for fornication for married people. Both married and single have the same punishment if there are at least four witnesses for the Adultery/fornication which is almost impossible because four witnesses means having sex in public.
These Wahhabists destroy Islam because they derive punishments from hadiths over Quran. All death punishments must be taken from Quran only because 1- they're mentioned in details 2-Allah said in Quran "today, I have completed your religion 3- the most authentic hadith book (Albukhari) is not reliable because the original manuscript is lost, and what we have today is a compiled book from different books written by anonymous papermakers many years after the original writer died. And this story is very close to the scenario of the gospels written after Jesus.
