I really feel for all of the wildlife who had homes in the burning areas. According to the weather report I saw this morning; it talked about rain coming to So Ca. Hopefully that's true and helps to put those fires out, or at least control them.

Hi Robbie! Hey, I bought 8 dishpans from Walmart and planted zucchini. Omg they grew fast and are huge! However, all of a sudden, they got powdery mildew. In fact, one zucchini I had in a different container got it bad n died. Do you have a remedy you use for powdery mildew? Juli from Michigan

Not boriing at all! I'm in a condo right now, and I miss having a yard (although I do have pots on the deck)... it's fun watching you and the birds and Zoe (and Gary, when he's out), working in your gardens.

Great idea to use pine needles! I will have to give it a try! Cleaning the undergrowth not only helps keeping rodents away but also allows you to see rattlesnakes!

I remember living in Cali over 40 years ago. Driving on the highway and seeing and feeling the fires so close. And just about a yearly fire reaching just one block away from our home. That and the earthquakes made me move. Too much anxiety! Now I only have to deal with the AZ low desert extreme heat! We don't get fires near me.
