So incredible wow ❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьSomeone has probably already mentioned this but, there is and old saying that “ the outside of a horse is good for the inside of a person.” This is true in countless ways.
ОтветитьI've called Sheridan, Wyoming my home for almost 34 years the Indian Relay races are my favorite rodeo event period the end
ОтветитьLove to see it
ОтветитьThis is so incredible! The physical strength and stamina it takes to ride bareback, especially at a gallop, is insane. I can’t imagine jumping off and right back on again as well- SO much strength is required to be able to do that. I would love to learn more about what they look for. I imagine they prefer to find TBs who stand closer to 15h or are on the smaller side in general because it’s easier to mount and dismount. I’m so worried about the safety of the horses and the people involved, but I can see that the horses are all very well cared for and loved, and I’m sure they’re doing everything they can to avoid collisions. Thank you so much for sharing this with the world! Although I hope to see this make its way into the mainstream, I certainly won’t be trying this on my ex-racehorse mare 🤣
ОтветитьTHAS IS PICE QUEKE
ОтветитьI wounder why i dont see any haters crying for the safety of the horses. Come on where yall at. I want to see yall try to cancel this.
ОтветитьThe Comanche and Apache were the first Horse Nations. They encountered the Spanish horses first. ❤
ОтветитьWTG Talia !!! ❤ Lilililililili
ОтветитьThat’s kinda way me 55y ago and it’s in my heart ♥️ forever ❤️
ОтветитьAwsome.
ОтветитьThis is such an incredible sport. My favorite.
ОтветитьI love horses and i respect cultures. Being from an indigenous race myself. But in todays world of what we know. Why the hell is this allowed, the dangers to the horses and people is ridiculous for entertainment!
Ответитьwow chaz
ОтветитьKen is absolutely correct, a full flat out run is like flying it’s so wonderful and smooth. When you have a horse wreck, not so much fun. I used to ride my horse bareback with just a leather thong on his lower jaw. My friend Lynnelle and I would do all kinds of crazy stunts on our horses. Good times.
Ответитьbeautiful
ОтветитьAwesome!! I rode my half arab/half thoroughbred bareback all through the Oregon fire trails.. nothing better than running flat out with a good horse.
ОтветитьSad to see “tradition” used as a reason to abuse animals. And if you wanna argue it’s not, they have whips, they are ripping on these horses mouths with bits, and putting them in danger of injury.
ОтветитьWow!! I grew up riding horses and I am a proud member of the Sault Ste Marie tribe of Chippewa Indians in Michigan! This is new and exciting to me!! I can feel their passion and I am definitely inspired for these young people. A horse can be the best of friends and make you a strong warrior!! Thank you for this story!
ОтветитьCan you imagine how much fun that horse is having? Just running like it was bred to do.
ОтветитьSeeing the young kids fall off the ponies, reminded me of the Dances With Wolves when the young men attempt to steal Kevin Costner army horse😅
ОтветитьThis is fantastic. Always knew the Native Americans were great horsemen. But this sport is truly natures test for man and horse as a team. Better than baseball or American football, to my mind.
Ответитьこんにちは😃😅😊❤
ОтветитьGreat story. Beautiful horses ❤
ОтветитьMy boyfriend’s buddy has family in Browning, Montana, who relays. Generations of racer winning championships over the years. I’m hoping I can watch this sport in person. I prefer it over any other horse sport. It’s definitely a lot more personable with equines than most other competitive sports.
ОтветитьLove this ❤ god bless from Pomona California
ОтветитьSorry, but this is just stupid - without protective gear. It seems more about how many injured people (and horses?) than the race itself.
ОтветитьAmazing!
ОтветитьBeen there, seen that a few times. Probably the most exciting thing you'll ever see.
ОтветитьNative Pride! Great luck this racing season, be well, be proud, be skilled, be blessed. Blackfeet Badazz's . See you all tomorrow at Emerald Downs.
ОтветитьDude, Native American not Indians got it
ОтветитьAbsolutely the MOST exciting sport ever!
Ответить❤
ОтветитьIs this at the North Dakota state now in Minot North Dakota
Ответить❤
Ответить🔥💪🏽
ОтветитьBRAGING RIGHTS 💪
ОтветитьThat’s my cousin Chaz Racine from the Blackfeet rez
Ответитьwhy are there high rates of suicide?? oh yeah its rape, and killing of each other that happens when people drink then start beef with each other
ОтветитьIs better than getting gored buy a running bull😂
ОтветитьWhat a great episode!! I envy their heritage and cultural pride. Excellent display of generational pride and connection with horses. Excellent.
ОтветитьVery interesting story about Indian relay horse racing ! . Thank you again 60 minutes for a good story !
ОтветитьMy niece in Oakesdale knows Talia. They were doing the rodeo circuit
ОтветитьAttended this yesterday in Enoch, Alberta Canada
ОтветитьI love this. Please have more stories featuring Indigenous Americans, no matter what the topic is.
ОтветитьThe mustang horse did NOT originate from spain. The research has been skewed for decades.
ОтветитьThis is reflective of how horse racing was in great depression. Money and dangerous entertainment ("a lot of injuries") is so lucrative , kind of gladatorial / important. How many horses are injured. 100 k prize money. Indian relay is way for cultures to survive bad conditions and save our mustangs, too. But it is a shame it has to be as dangerous as horse racing became in great depression.
Scary that they are buying domestic sprinters. Poor horses. Their genetics may be fast but not tough. Not mustangs.
They "connect to 200 yrs ago, warrior background" but are turning toward domestic sprinters??? They need to honor the indian horse. The native horse.
Save tge american native horse because so many say they are pests and their genetics is being ignored (skewed tests) and destroyed.
ОтветитьHorses matter❤
