Love your genuine affection and appreciation for this rifle. Definitely one of my all time favs. Great video....
ОтветитьYou kept saying "just like the M1A", that's because it IS an M1A.
ОтветитьI’ve got the CQB version and can spin a 4” steel at 200 yds with no issue, using a vortex Red/Green dot. As far as long range 500 yds plus, it’s neither designed nor intended for such shooting and I’m not convinced there are many who can and do shoot it with consistency at “long range” 750 + . Truth is, the std M1a is not considered (by military) as a Long Range weapon over 500 yds, and I can ring steel at a 1000 yds no issue with my 30.06 700 Remington, which is/was designed as a “Long Range” weapon. For shit sake, the first thing a Professional shooter understands is the purpose and limitations of any given weapons system. This rifle in actual cqb variety is a very heavy battle rifle intended to bring maximum velocity at close qtr. He’ll I shoot through concrete blocks with mine. Do the with the weenie at/15?
ОтветитьY can't u put it through actual combat conditions ....under water, dropped from 30 ft,,beat against other combat rifles, weather exposure overtime.ect
..
Fucking thing is accurate
ОтветитьGot mine set up with an archangel stock with a trijcon rmr duel power on the stripper clip guide . It has been my hog gun for many years .
Ответитьcan you unthread that muzzle device like the larger models and put those adapters on it for modern muzzle devices?
ОтветитьGot mine a couple of months ago, they’re extremely rare over here (I’m European). I’m tempted to slap a rail and a 3x on it, but I’m not sure it’s worth it. Barebones it looks very, very sexy.
ОтветитьDamn it wasn't gonna do it but I'm sold on it.
ОтветитьIt’s a nice piece of art. I have M1A Scout Squad I went to outdoor range and I’m glad I bought one it’s fun to shoot. I want one like that same color. 👍🏻👌💪
ОтветитьI am fortunate enough to own a SOCOM 16, SOCOM II, Scout Squad and a standard M1A
ОтветитьI have the Scout Squad 18” barrel version and it’s one of my favorite rifles. I configured mine to fill the SPR/DMR role. Put a Primary Arms 1-6 LPVO with the Raptor reticle on it using a SADLAK airborne mount. Had to add a Bradley cheek riser to get the right height. Whacking 8” plates at 300 yards with boring regularity. I’m being honest, an AR10 might be more practical but I wanted something different.
ОтветитьNice piece but they are running about 2grand now
ОтветитьHow did you mount your sling on the side?
ОтветитьHow is your sling attached to the butt? Didn't look like you were using the rear D ?
ОтветитьHow is it you have that rear sling mount mounted into the side of the stock like that???
ОтветитьAwesome man awesome
ОтветитьMines on the way but I paid a premium to get it. I don't care. Can't wait.
ОтветитьYes I would agree with you I absolutely love my socom.....!!!!
ОтветитьHow are you running your eotech? On the provided rail or in a stripper clip mounted rail?
ОтветитьHow did you setup the sling on this I cant see it all.
ОтветитьDoes that rifle have sling mounts on the side and also underneath?
ОтветитьApparently they aren’t very accurate but I think they look cool and want one. Not every gun needs to be a precision piece.
ОтветитьIt's a sledgehammer. Great videos, keep up the good work.
Ответитьhey man what type of sling are you running? and how did you install the sling adapter mounts? thanks
ОтветитьOne thing is see is people are adding loads of extras to the gun. Personally I think some are missing the point. If you put too much stuff on the gun it is no longer handy as intended.
Ответить2 k now
ОтветитьI wish these were 1200$ still
ОтветитьWhat's your sling setup and how did you mod your stock? I kept trying to catch a glimpse, but couldn't get a good view. Thanks
ОтветитьGreat Video Bro...
ОтветитьI’ve been wanting to get me one I’m going to now excellent Review 🎃
ОтветитьVery well done and articulated 🇺🇸🤘🏽🇺🇸🤘🏽🇺🇸🤘🏽
ОтветитьFunny thing .308 has more pressure than 7.62x51 but 5.56 has more pressure than .223.
ОтветитьWood Ben nice have it in iraq
ОтветитьI just picked one up... they have gone up in price, lol... we are talking 2k around there for the socom 16 with red dot. Very cool shooting gun. For me the recoil was minimum.
Ответить308 is a hotter load than 7.62x51. NATO but you can not shoot 308 in a 7.62x51 rifle.
ОтветитьPerfect truck gun
ОтветитьWell they are no longer $1200 or $1400. I just bought one for almost $1900. In some configurations they are $2500 crazy how much these things have gone up in 2 years.
ОтветитьHow do you compare that to the AR 10 ?
ОтветитьI was nailing the bullseye at 500 yards with the M16 in the Marines..I don't see why this one can't do the same.. 😎
ОтветитьDuring the first Gulf war I order my M1A1 marine corps super match rifle from Springfield armory. After a 3 year wait I got call to pick up my gun. Then I found out a few years later that Springfield armory does not make the M1A1 marine corps super match rifle any more. Because about that time the white feather rifle came on the scene. I will gladly keep my M1A1 Marine Corp Super Match Rifle till I die!
ОтветитьHow does the red dot hold up with the heat on rail....
Ответитьlove the video but where did u find a socom 16 for 1200
ОтветитьM1A is a tack driver once you get everything shimmed and the gas locks timed right and the barrel tensioner set right. Once you get to know your rifle and get everything tuned, nothing beats that socom 16
ОтветитьI love mine and even tho i have ARs , Shot Guns , battle rifles etc , if i grab just one and im scared or angry i will grab the M1A Socom. Its short and handy like AK / AR only with much more power. It turns enemy's cover into just concealment.
ОтветитьIt took a friend of mine 2 rounds, and then he hit 3 for 3 at 800yd he is a compation shooter, ME 500, all day long IT IS MY GO TO, FRIST CHOICE
ОтветитьGod bless America
ОтветитьSocom 16 is like Sammy Sullivan
Tough and small
I have one. Unless you plan to put a scope or red dot on that rail I highly recommend you take it off and replace with a regular handguard. You can also take the stripper guide piece off. This will keep your hand from getting burned, make it easier to grip and cut down on a few ounces of weight. I had to have a gunsmith fit the new handguard on since it didn't snap on perfectly out of the box, but no biggie for a good smith.
