First 😁
ОтветитьI learned about this civil war in school but I didn't know that vikings were involved
ОтветитьReally interesting, when I was tought this in school they told me that the Vikings were taken as slaves by Liparit tho. And are those runes still there in Sweden?
ОтветитьI remember doing a little research about this topic on local Georgian websites.
Some sources claim that even though nost vikings left the country, there were a few who decided to stay, they remained in Western part of Imereti and Guria region (close to kutaisi).
Can you made a video of the naval batle of DIU in 1509?
ОтветитьIngvar came from my hometown strängnäs, he has his burialmound only 12km from city center and a rune script about his travels inbedded in the walls of our cathedral. (they used his runestone as a buildingstone and decoration when constructing the cathedral 800 years ago)
ОтветитьGood stuff you're getting better & better!
ОтветитьThe vikings went down to Georgia
They was lookin' for a soul to steal
They was in a bind 'cause they was way behind
And they was willing to make a deal
When they came across this young man
Sawin' on a fiddle and playin' it hot
And theVikings jumped up on a hickory stump
And said "Boy, let me tell you what"
Was Sarkaland just the area of Georgia? If so I thought perhaps the Georgians calling themselves Tsvarketli or something like that could explain the name.
ОтветитьVery interesting i have never heard anything about this before
ОтветитьThe Rus did not destroy the entire Khazar Khaganate, just the parts in Ukraine and along the big rivers that go to the Black Sea and Caspian Sea. Let steppe nomads finished the part of the Khazar Khaganate in modern Chechnya and Dagestan Russia.
ОтветитьThe Battle of Sasireti took place in 1042 at the village of Sasireti, Georgia.
ОтветитьI thought is is ATL Georgia in US.
ОтветитьI thought is is ATL Georgia in US.
ОтветитьWhy did they call us Saracans? Georgia was never muslim
Ответить"early Russian State" yeah how about Noooo
ОтветитьSerkland means land of tunics/robes,/Cothes. because they saw Burkas and the Covered Women
ОтветитьCool story as always! I knew something about this story, but now I know for sure! Thanks!
Are you sure about "early Russian state"? As I remember, Novgorod was (if we use term Early state) first russian-slavik state, and even that become state, strong and dominant, after Mongols.
Yaroslav on the other hand was based and ruled in Kyev, Ukraine, or as you say early Ukrainian state. Not Russian..
Russia didn't exist at this time. Kiev did.
ОтветитьSwedish Vikings under the leadership of Rurik founded the power center Gårdarike around year 850. A few years later, they had also subdued the Kingdom of Kiev, which then became part of Rurik's growing empire. Already in the year 874, the Byzantine emperor had recruited Vikings from Gårdarike as his bodyguard. When Basil II formally founded the Varangian Guard in the year 988, the force consisted of at least 6,000 Vikings from Kievan Rus/Kiev, which was Byzantium's name for Gårdarike.
Ответитьfascinating tale
ОтветитьWhy are you whispering?
ОтветитьВалхалла, вах!
ОтветитьWould you say Marcus Aurelius was more stoic than Cicaro ?
ОтветитьOh....Georgia the country not the U.S. state. LOL
ОтветитьThey landed just south of Savannah and raided native camps for Cherokee women.
ОтветитьOhhh... THAT Georgia haha.... I was thinking this was a conspiracy video for half a second 😂
ОтветитьNext video, Vikings in Mongolia
ОтветитьAnother lost tribe😢
ОтветитьAt first l thought Georgia? Really? Then reality set in.
ОтветитьIngvar was the grandchild to the famous swedish king Erik the victorious (Eiríkr inn sigrsæli). Jaroslav I of Kiev was married to the swedish princess Ingegerd Olofsdotter, daughter to the swedish king Olof Skötkonung (Óláfr skautkonungr)
ОтветитьIf I was a Georgian, I wouldn't believe this pseudo-historical narrative that sounds like a fable.
ОтветитьThank you for an interesting journey with Ingvar and his Vikings.
Ответитьsaerkland probably comes from the old norse word, "saerk", meaning a tunic, or a piece of cloth to cover the upper body.
ОтветитьThe only Europeans to travel to America Before Columbus were the Britons (Bow known as Welsh people) the Vikings may have landed in Canada, but certainly not the US as we know it today. The Brandenburg stone proves it!!! For some reason academia want nothing more than to discredit the Britons and elevate the Nord!
ОтветитьSide note if I may: the Goverment of Wales recently commissioned a cover up of a mural on the wall of a South Wales Church depicting the meteor of the 500s, and the images of Madoc readying to leave Britain for America, it was re-discovered after the Normans had covered the wall with brick, sat ignored for 50 odd years, and now has been painted over. Disgusting treatment of such important history! The contents were of a red oily hue with Men carrying small boats onto a larger Galleon and a shooting star (Meteor) in the background. Funny thing is it’s depicting a time period when Galleons apparently didn’t exist. The name Galleon is also curious, The “Gal” is ever present with the Britons. Even today the latins know Wales as the “Land of the Gauls”. And the Gal appears everywhere they have been. The Welsh have the same legends as the Irish, where they claim to be originally from the Middle East and the Gal appears throughout Western and Southern Europe and the Middle East.
ОтветитьI suppose everything east of the Black Sea is serkland? Because that’s also what I’ve heard they called the caspian areas, which were actually Muslim (saracen)
Ответитьwell this is weird for me, I lived in Sakartvelo about a decade ago and heard some stories about this, just assumed it was all made up!
ОтветитьKeep up bro we will support you🫵🏻❤️🩹
ОтветитьAtl vikings ?
ОтветитьThe Greeks went there ! The name Georgia is greek !
ОтветитьJulius Ceaser saw Vikings in boats sail past the Roman galleons in port in Alexandria, Egypt. He wrote about it. And he ordered his ships to pursue. Roman ships could make about 3 knots. The Viking boats made about 11 knots. Much faster. He even described the men as having long hair and beards. Blonde and red in color. At 11 knots the Vikings on a direct line out of the Mediterranean Sea could have, possibly made North America in 2 weeks. Plus many islands, currents, winds etc would have been of great help. The Vikings knew the Earth and had a form of latitude and longitude. They knew their position and where they were and, where they were going.
ОтветитьIf you're talking about the easterly central European high grass country Georgia, then hey.
You talking about that janky swamp that smells like barf and skittles then I gatta go. Peace!
No, no, no. It was the "Fart-Ravelled". When can auto-bot voice say what
ОтветитьViking is stupid name. Use rather Norman because they was men from north. There were mens from Finland, Estonia, Latvia, north Russia.
ОтветитьWhen reading the title, I thought "I hope it's 'Georgia' the country, not 'Georgia' the state!"
ОтветитьThere’s definitely a lot of Africans in Georgia. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen any evidence of Vikings.
Ответитьas i know 2000 vangarians settled near where i live😁🇬🇪
ОтветитьI could only imagine the amount of oblivious Americans clicking this, thinking Vikings helped out the confederacy or just found a cool summer resort north of Florida XD
ОтветитьWhen supposed "greatest warriors" met actual greatest warriors of all time. 🇬🇪🤠
