I was diagnosed with Adult ADD back in the day. I guess today I would be considered ADHD PI. But funny enough I have to keep looking up which of the "new" diagnoses I'd fall under 😂

Diagnosed as add in school but never got it on paper and now i cant get it re-diagnosed in order to get medication as the Doctors dont have the time as they are so few and travels around between counties. Interesting that the doctors i have talked to never mentioned that add today falls under adhd.

There is no difference. It's just a collection of symptoms that will get you medicated. Cause the pharmaceutical companies love to take advantage of people and make billiions off ignorance. There is a reason why the person who is responsible for the diagnosis on his death bead called it a "fictitious disease." The issue is that parents want a quick fix for solutions to certain symptoms. Ever not get enough sleep where you are hyper because of it? What about exhausted to the point where you cannot pay attention?

ADD was the name of the condition in the DSM-III published in 1980. At the time it included two subtypes; ADD/H (with hyperactivity) and ADD/WO (without hyperactivity).
DSM-III-R, published in 1987, the name was officially changed from ADD to ADHD and it was consolidated into a unidimensional (no subtyping) disorder with an expanded definition (but emphasis on hyperactivity).
DSM-IV published in 1994 maintained the name ADHD and readded subtypes (Primarily Inattentive, Primarily Hyperactive/Impulsive and Combined Type).

ADD has never been, at any point, the name for a subtype of ADHD nor the name of a separate condition. ADD is ADHD, ADD/WO is ADHD-PI, ADD/H is ADHD-HI, ADHD-Combined Type would also have likely been considered ADD/H.

And that is the actual origin of the ADD - ADHD confusion. Confusion this video perpetuates.

I could've sworn I had adhd, but I had a psych eval and said I was borderline adhd but primarily I have PTSD. I was so surprised that they present similarly.

I definitely have ADHD primarily inattentive. I feel like my brain just is in lala land 90% of the day and like I cannot force it to change? I don't even realize it's happening. I WISH I got hyperactive, because then maybe at least I would have some energy 😭

Personally I hate the ADHD term because people typically focus on the hyperactivity part. I'd rather it be ADD with additional terms such as PI or PH, primarily inattentive or primarily hyperactive. And idk something else for combined.

Being born this way haven't been funny, during my college days I got tired of taking the medications so I stopped. And my condition got worst. Which made me start looking for a permanent solution when Dr Iyhere's herbal medical page popped up. I took the dosages and followed the prescriptions. I haven't been this active and better in my life.

I’m so happy I found this channel in a link on IG! I’ve been diagnosed with ADHD since I was 5 years old! Took meds up until I was 18! I’m 33 now and I still struggle with focusing, tasks, time management, I have to read something more than once to make sure it “Sticks in my mind” it feels good that I’m not alone in this journey! I’m still learning how to not talk over folks when having a conversation! I still struggle with impulsivity! Yoga, meditation, working out, and other things help me! Thank you for this!

See… I was diagnosed ADD as a child. Then ADHD as a teen. The problem was the medication I was given made everything worse. So my Mom took me off the medications each time, and I’ve stayed that way.

Now I think the underlying problem then and now is not that I have ADHD, it’s that the condition I do have presents as ADHD when it’s aggravated. That condition being Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome. When I’m on set normal night time work schedule, I’m fine. If that’s interrupted or I’m deprived of good restful sleep, my mind becomes restless and I exhibit many of the symptoms for ADHD.

Yeah i was diagnosed with ADD at first so I never realized I had adhd symptoms. Nobody pointed them out and my mom always wanted to label me as crazy even though she has adhd too. But she’s also a cruel woman.

I think it’s because I was depressed as a child. I was always lost and fell into my own mind for awhile. I didn’t do a lot of running around. I just sat in my room. As an adult I’m still hella depressed but at least I can fully express myself now. Now I see the hyperactivity.

ADHD misdiagnosis is an epidemic. My brother took meds since he was a kid. Go figure, amphetamines make people violent over time. now he’s brutally abusing his girlfriend like he did to me and the other kids at school. Got kicked out of the district in 7th grade, had to go to alternative school 45 min away. My mom “ did u take ur meds today” he’s still taking adderall thinking it’s helping 🤦🏾‍♀️ therapist every week, convincing my mom he needs more amphetamine. For 32 years no changes, any advice!? It’s becoming increasingly popular when I feel there is a medical scam happening

Thank you so much!!
I was at the doctors Place today and unfortunatly he is less informed about it than you (and me but I am library therapiing since April. And it has done so much for me in life.) Thanks for your help. I had the big aha moment for me when I got 30. And so much is falling into place, and is turning into positive perspectives! I didn’t know why I could relate so much. Since 1 month I know. And I have to fight for diagnosis so I don’t have to do it on my own for 30 more years 💛 caveday thanks for the support this week 🤗
