Why Governments Can't Raise The Birth Rate

The US Gov spent 1960-1980s (and more) pushing “ZeroPop” … taking away the incentives for Family, Motherhood, Home Makers, Child Birth … and “Incentivizing” EVERYTHING that was Anti Family and Anti Children.

They TOLD US Repeatedly that WE were going to Overpopulate OUR Country … OUR Communities …
NOW the SAME People have opened up the Floodgates at Our Borders saying WE FAILED to have Children … WE FAILED to have Families … WE FAILED to even Replace OURSELVES!
So … its OUR FAULT that they have to let all sorts of Illegal Alien Invaders into OUR Country to “Take the Jobs” WE can NO LONGER FILL.

I mean if both parents need to work 40+ hours to pay for housing and food, people don't want to have latchkey kids.

Ppl are so unhealthy due to unhealthy eating that it's taking a serious toll on being able to conceive and carry a child. This needs to be addressed as well.

I think governments often have 2 problems with raising the birth rate.
1. Many (probably even most of) people want to have children after their situation is stable economically that means people need money and stable job before having kids, yet many governments make big subsidies when you have children, but in order for the government to have money for such act is to take away money from other source, like raising taxes. And such actions make it harder for people to get stable or just delay the moment (which also means less children).
2. Many governments think that making abortion illegal will raise the birth rate, but according to many statistics it does the opposite. It can be counter intuitive, but if abortion is illegal, then there is greater emphasis on knowing about, and the use of contraception. Also, well at least in my country (Poland) making abortion illegal increased significantly problems with healthcare for women, especially when they are pregnant. If there is any problem with a unborn baby. Some women have died, because doctors didn't want to remove dead unborn from a women, some even though they wanted the child, well... they don't have it and cannot have by the lack of adequate procedure. So now in my country there is a culture that if you want children either you know a doctor who you can trust with pregnancy or you leave (at least for the time of pregnancy) to a country that is known of good healthcare towards pregnant women.

I do agree with you but if you want to help the most immediate thing that most struggle with is finance. The government needs to incentivize families financially. I’m talking in a big way. Like for every kid you have your income tax burden is forever decreased by 25%. You have 4 kids then you never have to pay federal income tax. Maybe that seems extreme but it is an extreme problem.

Oh they can do it, but no body likes the solution....
1. Make it so that ONE person can make a living wage. That means either a woman or a man can be a breadwinner and the other stays in... the kitchen (A man can be in the kitchen too.)
2. Give maternity leave at least 5 months.
3. Fix the family courts to stop being biased against men.

and that's just about it. I would be on dating apps like a fly if this happened.

Low birth rates are a consequence of becoming first world and developed countries as the social and economic change that takes place in those countries which cause low birth rates does not take place in the third world and undeveloped countries where those countries retain high birth rates.
Governments offset low birth rates by importing immigration from countries that retain high birth rates.

Governments don't need native birth rates to go higher, they can just give work visa to skilled but cheap labour.

It also doesn't help that social media has driven a larger percentage of people crazy. That number seems to be on the higher end for women.

Because we’re not raising our kids just so the government can tax them, arrest them, or send them to war.

To undo the fertility crisis you have to undo feminism.

Governments dont care about kids even if they say they do. They will easily promote abortion but god forbid a woman has to freeze her eggs cause she is not married yet, you gotta pay thousands.

Abolish income taxes and small business taxes.

The bureaucracy must be pared back to affordable levels.

There must also be a fundamental repudiation of the radical left feminist doctrines.

I don’t think governments should hand out money to parents so they have kids.

I think pensions should.

After all, even a healthy pension is only as good as the economy you can spend it in.

Its not just money or metrics. Why would a man in the modern western world want to risk having a relationship with a woman and have kids just to possibly lose everything - your kids either through divorce, crime, or gender politics; your house, your financial stability, your future income (alimony in America, child support in Australia), your name and reputation? The risk is just not worth it anymore (and it's probably the same for women).

More tax payers = more public funds is a pyramid scheme. It will fail epically eventually.

Additional point to consider: modern society is deeply hostile to any healthy form of courtship. There's a distinct human courtship dance. It requires males and females to be together, repeatedly over time, in an environment where flirting is socially acceptable. The elimination of "third spaces" has made it extremely difficult for this to occur.

It comes down to children no longer being economically viable. Before the Industrial Revolution children were both workers and an insurance policy, after it they became an 18 year liability. So really the only way to bring the birth rate back up is to make children profitable.

Government should raise children, not parents. Government can do what is right, based on the experts. Letting ordinary people be parents is too stupid for words. Most people are just utter morons.

Western governments exist for themselves. They are dictatorships of parasites.

One main reason is because teen girls are given birth control at age 14, 15, 16, to ‘solve’ menstrual problems, but birth control is just a bandaid to cover up the underlying issues of unbalanced hormones, PCOS, endometriosis, ovarian cysts… Then when the women are ready to have a baby 10+ years later, the birth control has completely screwed up the woman’s body due to having synthetic hormones coursing through her body for so long. I say this as a woman who had this happen to myself and ALL of my friends aged 35-45.

This one is a stretch. People aren't going to have more children just because there's less government.

There are 8 BILLION people on this planet. Declining birthrates are only a problem for the those few who depend on an ever increasing supply debt slaves to maintain their wealth and power.

There's also the fact that there's a disparaging discrimination when it comes to certain gender, race and orientation. Most governments and organizations have broken the relationship that there's citizens had with each other.

Instead of actually trying to encourage relations naturally, they instead try to force it and unwittingly incentivize certain behaviors that made people antagonistic towards each other, and that thought process girls even more by people who know they can profit off of people fears and anxieties and anger.

How many times do you hear men and women blaming each other for every single thing that goes wrong with their lives?

It's not an easy problem to fix because some leaders have either ignored the problem or they do it on purpose cuz it's easy to manipulate a society when you give them an object of disparity to point the finger at.

I see this and I constantly feel safer being by myself rather than be in a relationship because the kind of people that put themselves out there in social media acting a fool and ready to fight others for the tiniest and stupidest reasons.

Our leaders cannot see this problem and do everything in their power to pretend that it doesn't exist. The only solution they see is forcing behaviors to make change work.

If people don't feel like they have any control of their own lives than they lose morale. Some people are fine with that because the reality of it hasn't set in. And the reality hasn't said in because they haven't witnessed it yet. And unfortunately there are some that probably would never understand it even if the problem was staring them in the face.

the government/s have spent DECADES researching, developing, and implementing various ways to LOWER birth rates as they keep saying we are OVER populated.... everything from chemicals in food to various birth control devices and propaganda's, and funding abortion clinics world wide... there is even a theory that THEY helped feminism get organized, the single BIGGEST killer of birth rates for sure.... and they are ONLY now wanting higher birth rates?!?!?!.... the reason THEY can't raise the birth rates is simple... first, they let the problem go TOO far, its taken on a life of its own and may not even be stoppable at this point... and second, many who wanted lower population still want even LOWER population.... and third, even IF they truly wanted to FIX the problem, THEY are not capable of fixing it without causing even MORE issues.....

What part of "living wage" don't these politicians understand. Also what kind of a parent would feed their kids this nasty food and water just knowing that your kids will be brain damaged or dye of cancer.

They aren't trying to fix it. Having children requires hope for the future and belief in a reasonable level of freedom. They don't want either.

I'm sympathetic to the government being the problem, but the reality is that it's a spiritual sickness. More/less government doesn't give you purpose like Christ. The Bible's teachings and the joy of knowing Christ's sacrifice and purpose for you and your children to live fulfilling lives is way more important than the government getting in the way or not! Governments have taken God and tried to replace worship and belief in an afterlife with government dependency. That is no motivation to perpetuate the species.

This is nothing… wait till the next generation wakes up and realizes that they all either cut off their reproductive organs or took puberty blockers that basically sterilize them.

Government cannot fix this because it is fundamentally a problem of selfishness - a cultural problem. The populations of developed western nations are about our ambitions, our achievements, our stuff. Raising kids requires sacrifice, and takes you on an emotional roller coaster that you'd sometimes like to get off. Sometimes it seems like there is more month than money and if something breaks it's going to stay that way until the next paycheck. It's hard and mistakes are par for the course and a few regrets can be thrown in there. That said, my father who came from a miserable and impoverished upbringing made it his mission to work his way out of that hole and raise a family with dynamics dramatically different from his own - and he succeeded, raising 5 kids along with my devoted and inspiring mother, and though my parents are both passed on, we kids still talk to one another. We have our differences to be sure, but we are all trying to do what my dad did and make our corner of the world a better place. I have 5 kids myself and my eldest son is already up to a brood of 4. It's been hard, but I wouldn't change a thing. DINKS are missing out on the wonder and the learned wisdom, trading it for exotic vacations, creature comforts and experiences that will perish with them.

in the governmental world, every problem can be fixed with money. Except reproduction, its like they cant fathom why money isn't working. So instead, money buys immigrants.

Improve the economy, with more access to housing to raise kids in, more jobs for people to earn money and pay for things. Then the birth rates will naturally go up. They are trying to raise birth rates when the economy is shit, by passing policies. That's like trying to improve crop production on unfertile soil by passing laws and not improving the soil.
