Why do photographers hate harsh light?

Well, mainly because the images produced won't be as "warm" or "majestic" as a classic sunrise/sunset image. The sun is just too high in the sky to make moody results. It will take work, reps, and patience, my friends!

There are, however, many benefits to shooting midday, and I do list off a few in this video BUT the number one benefit in my opinion - you train your brain to get out and shoot no matter the weather conditions. Avoiding a chance to practice at your craft/hobby/passion really shouldn't be on the table.
