It's troubling that a vet doesn't know hyenas are not even closely related to canines. Different species, different illnesses.

Those vets are a different breed. Like, I would wear a bite suit, a Kevlar vest, a suit of knight armor, and cover myself with Pepperidge Farm bread packaging before EVER setting foot in that damn enclosure

He's just acting like a regular dog.. and everything they are saying about him is too, but they're making it sound intense.. lol

I think being a vet is much harder than being a doctor. Especially when you can't communicate with your patient and there's a risk the patient will bite or scratch you.

That's a very small hyena even for a male.

I find it funny the hyena ended up in a wolf sanctuary where they specialize in canines. The closest living relative of hyenas are cats and viverrids, and mongooses.

Hyenas are beautiful, misunderstood, incredibly social creatures. It’s proven now that humans can integrate into the hyena’s social hierarchy really well, so we can better study and understand their behaviour.

I do like pitbulls not saying they all bad, bt put the biggest baddest male pitbull in their with this hyena and she will definitely kill the pitbull and most likely eat it

These people are crazy. Hyenas aren't pets. They need to bring that hyena back to the African wilderness where it can scavange and hunt. It's ALL instinctual and they CAN do it. Hyenas are not domesticated, they're not dogs and CAN survive even after being raised in captivity. Those myths about "raised in captivity so can't survive on their own" need to die.

its a big instinct for hyenas to test others with bites and playing cos in the wild they have incredibly tense social structures, im not educated enough to know what this hyenas thinking, but thats probably why it was nippy.

At the beginning of the video I was worried he was in the pet trade, but it's nice to see the hyena is a rescue and his owners appear responsible and knowledgeable.
