Why moving in with my partner feels scary (but right?)

I am 51, divorced, and everything in me is screaming, 'dont do it!' Ar least, not yet. I got married quickly because I'm romantic, but I gave up myself because that is what domesticitydoes however much 'open minded' and 'nice'and 'pro women'he is. They change, they are on best behaviour until they marry you. It's sad seeing you dismantle who you are by taking your apartment apart. You will never have this freedom again, women give that up so quickly. We are groomed into that. Keep your head. Does he love your chaos? No, he doesnt because hes dating you not living with you. Im chaotic, if he isnt then no he will either get quietly angrier and angrier, or he will turn into a control freak. This is so sad. But I hope I am wrong. Watching this amazing, independant, talented, creative woman rush into giving it all up is a tragedy.

Also, printers suck and I decided never to own one again (unless the technology dramatically changes at some point?). I go to my local library for all my printing. The inconvenience is way better than the inconvenience of housing one and having to fight the stupid thing. 😅

I also HATED ACOTAR but book 2 is 1000% better if you’re willing to give it a try.

I immediately got excited when I saw your sister Liz as the episode where I laughed the most was with you both.

As usual, the very last part of your video where you talked about walking back in front of your apartment with your future child really pulled at my heart strings. You have such a way of touching our hearts. I hope your future home(s) are full of just as much laughter, love and beautiful decor.

Hey Caroline. I’ve been following your journey for a while now. Your period of change and embracing the unknowns is something that is all too relatable for me at the moment. I recently got out of a really toxic living situation. It’s so weird to realize this is my life now and I get to make of it what I want. I don’t know what the future will bring but I know I’m ready for it and excited!

Ugh, don’t get me started on that book. My friend keeps pushing me to read the Acotar series, but I could not get past the first chapter of A Court of Thorns and Roses. I was listening to the audiobook, and I just kept having to go back and listen to the same crap over and over because I could not focus it was so goddamn boring. So I gave up but she and every other person that’s read it tells me “oh yeah, the first one sucks but it gets really really good after that”, and apparently it all comes full circle later in the series, which is so infuriating that I would have to endure such agonizing drivel just to see it supposedly pay off. How did any of these people even make it to the end of this book, let alone the rest of series to even make the determination that any of it is good?! I can’t. I do not respect the author for this at all.

I don’t get this waiting years to get married when couples are living together. Have a civil ceremony and the wedding celebration at a later date if due to not having the finances or time. God forbid there’s a death or serious illness, the partner gets no say so whatsoever regarding funeral plans or medical decisions. Also, the parents and family members will sweep in like vultures to claim their possessions and money. Just don’t get it. 🤦🏻‍♀️

OMG thanks for saying that about ACOTAR. Totally agree with you about the book. I haven't been able to finish it either lol. But I keep hearing from the people who love the series that it gets way better after book one. I will try to finish it at some point to start book 2. So very happy for you girl!
