Minecraft vs Terraria - How Do They Compare? Video Game Comparison

I definitely prefer Terraria to Minecraft.

1. Minecraft is too easy and straightforward. Minecraft is a game that pretty much is a step by step type of thing. You mine wood, you craft crafting table, you make pickaxe, etc. and it’s easy. Most hostile mobs have 20 health. Only 20. The only thing harder about minecraft than terraria is resource management but once you get a farm going for it it’s just too easy.

2. Minecraft, compared to terraria, has little to no variety. Minecrafts weapons and armor sets have always been the same. ALWAYS. Terraria is expansive in its armor and weapons, and specializes in class gameplay, while also making it not required for your character to be powerful. The exponential growth of the power of the terraria character is huge. Each stage of the game grants you an enormous power boost that just feels refreshing everytime.

3. Minecraft, compared to Terraria, has little to exploration. There are what? 8 ores in minecraft? Terraria challenges the player to fight things much stronger then they are, and once they are finally on an equal playing field with that thing, an even stronger enemy comes into play and it’s exhilarating finding new mobs to fight. The cave system is also superior. With tens of ores to find and mine, the game challenges the player to venture out of their comfort zone and confront the unknown head on.

They're both AMAZING games and the only reason I choose Minecraft is because of the transformative servers making it feel like a whole new game to discover. Although playing Terraria with my dad on my Wi-Fi is super fun. Bro I swear... be gets godly tools so fast. Having a gamer dad is pretty fun ngl

Very very good! Minecraft would win if it had more detail to weponds and such, terraria is just so cheap and fun to play! Not to mention 1.4 and the new deerclops boss!

I have played Minecraft since it came out and I thought it was the best game ever. I used to think Terraria was a ripoff of Minecraft until recently when I started to play Terraria. I now love Terraria and definitely prefer it to Minecraft. Terreria has more content and is a better survival game than Minecraft.

Im terraria gang i like more adventuring than building and in terraria is over 20 bosses and and Terraria was released before Minecraft.

Terraria is WAY better than Minecraft but Minecraft isn’t bad

played both games, took me 10 minutes to get bored of minecraft, took me 1 month to get bored of terraria, ive finished both games, but i'd much rather replay terraria since there are many more ways to play terraria than there is for minecraft, and im comparing both vanilla games without any mods or any friends. terraria is simply just better in almost every way, and i say almost because its not 3D and doesnt have infinite world generation, which are the only two things i can say minecraft did better.

As someone whop plays terraria you can barely compare them, as they have waaay different goals.
Plus terraria is more addictive

Both games are great but
Terraria has more enemies, bosses, weapons, potions, items in general, armors, special items(Pets, mounts, trophies, boss items), Unique Master mode items, a variety of npcs who all are unique, Fun rare items, liquids(Like the new one named shimmer- u can do a lot of things with it)

Terraria's similarities to Minecraft start and end at building, mining, and crafting. There is way more content in Terraria too.

Terraria came out first, it can't be a clone.

(To "those" people) Terraria was released before Minecraft, it isn't a clone nor a 2D version of Minecraft.

to be fair we have to all agree that minecraft gets unbelievably boring and you would usually only play it for like 5 minutes before getting off and playing some other game even on multiplayer

these guys didn't do this comparison right. They did it completely wrong. They should not go off of data and stats but they should have gathered more experience since I feel they are more biased towards Minecraft. Completely ignored that Minecraft is losing soul and ambition while Re-Logic listens to their community. This seems like a fairly half-assed comparison just to rake in views from the conflict.

Minecraft is simply better. Sorry, but you all must look at unbiased logic. Over 5x the copies sold for a game that is triple the price. It's simply obvious that minecraft is better due to this factor alone. Terraria is a restricted 2d game with incredible pve depth, but literally almost nothing else. Minecraft has no boundaries.

For the creativity part i think terraria gets the win, unlike minecraft terraria have walls paint furniture and other stuff and i know some people gonna say "but terraria is 2d" exactly, if its 3d you have limited vision and barely see the whole build making some details a waste, but in terraria you see the whole build.

I grew up with Minecraft and i can't let it go. And i Played terraria I Love it but im more of a Creative person and i enjoy building Mansions Pixel art and in Terraria i dont feel the creativity Minecraft gives me And i prefer Minecraft cuz its 3d.
