The boy murdered his family and that's why he was the only one to live, and the grandfather got there and thought that a monster killed them, and then took the boy thinking he was innocent, and made sure he was safe, so when the boy escaped, he was the monster again. As for the eye- idk

Okay honestly though, fuck Grandpa for demanding I make him a soup when none of the ingredients were easily accessible. I need a bone, fresh meat, plenty of liquid, a tuber, and some spices. There's a frog in the pantry, but no spices, no bones, the water is shut off, and opening the vegetable cupboard requires a code that can only be found inside a hidden room which can only be accessed via a code from another hidden room.
