Hike In the woods at Rock Mill Preserve, Skillman NJ

Rock Mill Preserve Located in Montgomery Township, Skillman, New Jersey
The Park is located on Grandview Rd, 1/4 Mile east from Hollow Rd or 1 mile from Belle Mead-Blawenburg Rd

This is a short loop trail with a distance of approximately 0.7 miles in total length with very little elevation changes. This would be a great hike for beginners, kids or a nice stroll under the trees.

This trail does have the potential to be muddy after rains and does have you walking over lose rocks. For these reasons I would suggest wearing sneakers at the least or hiking boots for better support.

At a fast pace I did this trail in 12 minutes. But this is a trail I have done many times and didn’t really take the time to soak up nature or my surroundings. But will give you a good chance to decide if you would like to spend some time in this park.

Be aware the property is hunted from September 1st through February 28. You are advised to wear brightly colored clothing to make your presence known to possible hunters in the area. I do not see this an issue as the same hunting possibility is at most wooded tails. And this park is close to roads and houses which reduce the odds of hunters being that close to the trails.

So take your time and enjoy the Rock Mill Preserve as it is a nice place to relax and reconnect.
