how to fix controller in space engineers steam 2022 insertions in the description

This didn’t change a single thing. My controller will let me move around and fly and drive but I can’t use the triggers for anything, I can’t weld or shoot or grind anything. I literally have to put the controller down and use my mouse which completely defeats the purpose of using a wireless controller.

This works until you touch your mouse or keyboard.. then it starts fighting between the two and the controller is again unusable... i dont know what the deal is with this game but steam controller support doesnt seem to work for anytbing but the steam menu and the devs dont seem to care. When I play on xbox I used my keyboard and my controller at the same time with no problems.
