I have always thought that this song sounds like it would have been a good candidate for a second Squackett album (so sad that we only got one of those before losing the genius of Mr Chris Squire)

I used a similar theme in a short story I wrote a few years back called Shaft 29. I had aliens using freshly buried corpses to use to shield their own fragile bodies in order to mine precious minerals out of a remote shaft in Utah. The device became the toll I needed to make the story work plus it left a back door open to do a sequel. Hopefully I'll get to do that oneday.

A highlight of the LP methinks. That march reminds me of Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas. Kudos to Roger and to Rob for the sax intermission.

Steve, this prompts me to say something to you I've wanted to say for some time. I love the Genesis Revisited material at gigs, was an avid Genesis fan right the way through your time with the band, having first walked in on your performance at Birmingham Town Hall on the Charisma 'ten bob tour' around the time Nursery Cryme was released, and I come to see you every time you perform in Manchester, and have a VIP ticket booked for the Manchester gig later this year, if it's able to go ahead in the current crisis, it's fabulous that one of the classic lineup (and clearly, to my mind, a powerful influence on the output at that time) is still performing the amazing material regularly

However (I'm sure you could feel it coming) I absolutely love your solo material, not only the more obvious early albums (Acolyte, Please Don't Touch, Spectral Mornings, Defector) but also, or perhaps especially the more recent albums. You go from strength to strength, widening the diversity of influence with each new release. These feature right at the top of my favourite listening. I await each new release with eager anticipation, knowing that it will be certain to explore new influences and avenues of creation. And, of course, I love your tendency to 'take it dark' (a real irony given the title of a certain post- Hackett Genesis track! ;)). But, unfortunately, with such a wealth of Genesis and early classic Hackett material, this recent material just gets to feel like such a small ration on your tours in recent years, just when your solo creativity is soaring to such amazing heights.
So, here is my plea to you. Please, please, please, could we have at least one new tour that moves the balance from the Genesis Revisited to the (recent) solo material? I'm not asking you to ditch either Genesis material or early Hackett classics entirely, I'd be devastated if you did, just a shift of emphasis. If, for instance the more recent solo material made up, say, 60-70% of the set, or you alternated from one tour to the next, or a combination of both - e.g, one tour with the balance as I suggest, the next switching back to an emphasis on Genesis revisited, I'd be over the moon.
What do you think?
Roy Pemberton (one of, if not THE most enduring Steve Hackett fans ever)

Surprised you didn't remark on the Middle Eastern vibe. Picked up a bit of Led Zeps Kashmir in the opening verses. Great track, Steve.

thanks for doing this one! i remember asking you to do it, on facebook, when you started doing these. had a wild year, with homelessness and other things, so i must have missed this. love skeletons!!!!! and of course this is one of the longer videos too :)))))) thank you so much. even more so cool to see how much interpersonal friendship and possible love in youth, progressed with adulthood into discovering love itself, and how that song and life gift each other endlessly
