MSI is keeping pace and moving forward with our close partner @AMD. We are glad to reveal that the upcoming BIOS update will be available soon for our 300-series and 400-series motherboards supporting AMD's next gen Ryzen processors.
BIOS and ELECTRICAL compatibility.
Both of these issues are easily solvable. For the BIOS they could simply have TWO different versions and have you get the one that supports YOUR CPU. You could just have the 3000 series have its own BIOS for example with no support for previous. If you had say an R5-1600 you need a new BIOS anyway so upgrade to that and even if there's no longer support for your R5-1600 who cares since you're swapping CPU's anyway now... as for electrical, just support up to whatever that particular board supports. Maybe that means up to 8-cores for some, 12-cores for others and 16-cores for all of them... I wonder how much of this is wanting to SELL NEW MOTHERBOARDS?
It’s fine. I don’t typically fill my pc with trash, so this isn’t such a huge issue
ОтветитьThis rumor news don't bother me. I only have two X470 motherboads with Zen+ CPUs.
ОтветитьAMD Do same Intel that not cool i buying the AMD RYzen 5 1600 +MSI X370 Krait gaming fuck igo buy Intel
Ответитьi got a b450 msi board but personally think msi will support x370 boards but there's a lot of other factors to take into consideration for instance power phase etc.
ОтветитьIt's probably because most 300 series boards have really shitty VRMs. Those "premium" boards were mostly just cheap boards with more plastic and more RGB.
Intel CPUs can get away with terrible VRMs because of the internal precision regulator, but AMD CPUs rely on the mobo to regulate the voltage. So naturally, they more or less just copied and pasted the VRMs from the Intel boards and adjusted the output voltage for AMD chips. Remember when we had those ridiculous 10x2 phase VRMs for Sandy Bridge? That's what Ryzen VRMs should look like. Yet we're stuck with "4x2" on everything but the extreme boards. Of course, those doubled so called "phases" are just paralleled chokes instead of actual phases, which means it's really just a 4 phase board with some extra current capability.
It's a total scam but nobody cares, because everybody does it and as long as they look like the Intel boards people think they're getting a good board.
Ehh you do realize that this has been out in the wild for ages? Think it's Adored who said ages ago that there's a good chance many older AM4 motherboards won't support the new high-core count additions to the Ryzen series. This makes sense from a VRM standpoint so I don't think theres anything weird here. There's also the very physical limitation to the amount of memory available on motherboards to store information about CPU's. From what I know there's just not enough space on a motherboard to support ALL CPU's from 3 generations of Ryzen AND at the same time have a fancy looking BIOS onboard. So yea... This was pretty much common knowledge already. I'm a bit surprised that MSI doesn't add support on their highest end X370 boards, I'd imagine that some other vendors will add support for the high end SKU's on their highend x370 boards.
ОтветитьMy x370 gaming pro carbon recently got a bios update for "future support for ryzen processors"
ОтветитьI get bios update to new ryzen for msi b450 gaming plus motherbord
ОтветитьHi, I got a confirmation from MSI Middle East that there's bios update to support 3rd Gen Ryzen CPU's.
ОтветитьThank god that I bought a b450 😂😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьI have a MSI X370 board, I'm so concerned right now if it doesn't work I will never touch MSI boards ever again!
ОтветитьWhy are you announcing something like it’s confirmed? All of that information is circumstantial at best
Oh wait, then you have a comment under it basically confirming what I just said. Extremely irresponsible “reporting” here.
Change ur title
Please don't look inside my soul!
ОтветитьIt doesn't affect me coz i haven't purchased any mobo/GPU/CPU
ОтветитьJust updated bios today on b450 ac ..., for incoming ryzen. Hope for good value: r5 3600x
ОтветитьThat's why the VRM on the CH7 hero is so beefy. Asus already released a bios to support zen 2.
Ответитьit's not a bad thing for some 300 series not to be compatible... Think about it this way. if you are on a budget, but can't spend lots of money... You'd want a great bang for the buck computer part right? If more people are going to demand the new 400-500 series mobo, then surely the 300 series mobo (the ones that aren't compatible) are the target for budget consumers.
It's a good plan for budget consumers to target mobos that doesn't have 3000 series support.
I'm pretty sure, AMD did not anticipate that the 3000 series would be compatible with 300 series motherboard back in 2017. Even intel's motherboards had the same issues regarding their B150/B250/B360 motherboards.
Does anyone else thinks disguise hell of a creepy looking especially how he has his camera up high like if he's taking a selfie. You're a Burly man no matter what you do you're not going to look any better. It just makes you look really creepy please stop
ОтветитьAMD doesn't have a history of being so anti-consumer so I'll believe it when I see it. AMD has long waited to become relevant again and they wouldn't dare lie like this because it could result in a class-action lawsuit and a severely damaging blow to the consumer goodwill that they have already accumulated.
ОтветитьThanks for the news. I just hope they don't do that to the tr4 chips, it too my a while to be able to get one haha 😁
ОтветитьNot Just MSI, this is my response from ASUS

people dont understand whats going on here. if ryzen 3000 comes out with 16 cores you bet your asssss that the msi titanium(if you know how motherboard power delivery works) will get very very warm. and the same goes to the b350 boards... god rest their souls..... pushing 120 watts through these boards will end in motherboard failures. it just will electrically. there are things worse am4 boards will have serious consequences going forward. i actually hope that some boards dont allow ryzen 3000 cpus. not trying to be rude but some am4 boards are just dumpster fire at delivering power to current ryzen 2000 cpus.
ОтветитьI had already planned on replacing my Hero IV when the new Ryzen CPU dropped. So not an issue here.
ОтветитьChange the Titel If IT has now Support.
ОтветитьOh God. It's great that i bought a B450 board. Man it means i can use those CPU's 😁😁😁😁
ОтветитьI just checked the MSI website. Looks like I'm good to go with the new Ryzen 3rd gen on my MSI B350 Gaming Plus motherboard.
ОтветитьHE has beautiful eyes.
ОтветитьGood thing i went to intel lel
ОтветитьIf anyone needs to have the newest and the fastest gaming PC then surely the motherboard upgrade is the the 2nd most important after the CPU. I don't expect that every new AMD based Motherboard, certainly the X370 or X470, will be future proof, but if they do then it is a bonus. I am not disappointed if my older MB is not compatible or not optimized for the 3rd Gen Ryzen CPU.
ОтветитьI'm kinda glad I checked for bios updates on my gigabyte x370 gaming K7 board they just released 2 bios updates and it says they'll apparently support next gen ryzen cpus :)
ОтветитьDoes gigabyte confirmed bios update for ryzen3rd? (B350 motherboard)
ОтветитьI'm sticking with my x470 motherboard
Ответитьhehe I got X470 so im good
ОтветитьI checked, B350 PC MATE recived ryzen 3000 bios update. My R5 1600 will be changed with an 3000 series Ryzen. Hope the 8 core one.
ОтветитьSo it can be used on a Asus 450 f gaming motherboard?
ОтветитьHow about z390?
ОтветитьI just took the Gigabyte Aorus x470 Ultra Gaming.. and i want to fix a R5 2600x in it, shall i wait for the R5 3600x?! This MB will support it?
ОтветитьIn fact it has been said recently that the Asrock B320 series M.B. will only support the 3rd Gen Ryzen of the APU kind and not CPU, other boards should offer some support for 3rd gen Ryzen CPU
ОтветитьSo will my b450 motherboard support it
Ответитьwill the asus prime b450 plus be supported?
ОтветитьI need help does a ryzen 3 3200g work on any b450 motherboards around $100 if not what are some motherboards that are compatible with its thanks you
ОтветитьIs asrock b450m steel legend is compatible with ryzen 3rd gen?
ОтветитьThat voice is making me Climax (^o^)
ОтветитьRIP me. I bought this mobo and read some articles about it. But if it doesn’t support 3gen I’ve got a problem
