I think the satellite bombs need to be rethought. How they work currently, I see no reason to use them over a TV guided bomb/rocket, because currently they use the exact same system to target as a TV system but don't have any of the advantages like tracking or built in thermals. The only advantage they have is they can hit their target even if it gets obscured by smoke or cloud, however inertial guidance solves that problem the TV guidance.

I think a system to designate a target using the in game map would be a nice way to make them unique and give them some useful advantages, in ground battles it would allow striking targets that are scouted through cloud cover or from high altitude, and in air battles it could be used to plan strikes before getting in visual range of the target.

Bonus point if we could designate multiple targets at one time so we could drop a spread of bombs all at once.

GPS guided bombs can target moving target, it has inertial navigation capability and can remember target's last known movement. Thus if moving target travels at constant speed and does not change speed nor heading after launch, the GPS guided bomb can hit.
Also GPS guided bombs can track maneuvering target too via datalink. Launch aircraft or another targeting platform tracks target movement and updates target information mid-flight and allowing the GPS guided bomb to receive updated target location and velocity, which allows it to hit.
It can even be redirected mid flight, with the glide kit, the bomb can loiter around an area for several minutes and awaits target assignment.
This avoids setting off laser warning while still having the capability of stirking moving target plus increased flexibility.

This is the reason why everyone is trying to make GPS guided weapon with datalink. Since such weapon is as capable as optical/laser guided weapon while giving absolutely zero chance for early warning.

How the hell is the F-15C going to precisely drop these in Air Sim without a pod? You don't get a big green crosshair rolling across the ground in Air Sim and pointing your HUD sight at a target without substantial magnification just seems like a practice in futility.

I wish we could have some high priority targets in air rb... So that bringing guided ordinance in a like f16 or the new jf-17 make sense, since you most likely will only be bringing air to air stuff anyways.

I'd SOOOOOO excited to use the JDAM. I play SIM almost exclusively and fly bombers and strike aircraft almost exclusively as well. This is RIGHT up my alley! Now we'll be able to bomb multiple targets in 1 bomb run. Almost every worthwhile ground target in SIM is stationary and this is tailor-made for such missions. Man! You can bomb from like 50km out and hit no problem! Plus I like to fly as high as I can get without sacrificing accuracy. This is gonna be fun as long as I can duck those pesky AMRAMs. Point, drop, point drop, point drop, point drop,🤣! I can't wait!

i like that there are gps bombs but i cant figure out how to work them on the F-15C, it has no targeting pod and no built in targeting camera, so how am i supposed to use them?

These things are amazing for countering AA, especially the 2000lb variant.

How to prevent the laser from turning on when you drop the bomb? When I drop any GPS bomb, the laser turns on and it becomes laser guided instead of GPS guided. Even when I turn the laser off before dropping the bomb, the bomb drop key switches the bomb to laser guidance.
