Man, I have been looking at this thing for a year or so. I like they finally put a clip on it. The blackout is sweet.
ОтветитьNo left hand assassins exist i guess lol
ОтветитьDigging the Assassin. Good luck importing that to Canada where I live. We aren't allowed pointy sticks anymore because of the nanny state Government.
ОтветитьGot the all black version (black blade; black scales) months ago.
Blade is very sharp....and super drop shut. Assassin cut my thumb a few times opening up that blade because it breaks the detent so early.
Open this Assassin —blade up, and you won't get bit.
Meh. Painted blades have left a bad taste in my mouth. Returned my kizer begleiter for that reason among a few others.
Thanks for sharing, LTK.
lol.. 45 min after this video and they are completely out of stock. Unfortunately, this has been my experience in general with White Mountain Knives. I'd buy from them if they ever had anything I was interested in actually in stock, but after stalking their website for four months, I've basically given up
ОтветитьFingers look better
ОтветитьMine was 32.00 with LTK discount. It's a great deal for that price. I did need to extend the sharpening coil to clear the plunge, but that's not uncommon with even big dollar blades (think GB2). The 14c28n sharpens and deburrs easy, holds an edge reasonable well, strops back easily. Zero complaints with Harnds Assassin, ergos and action are surprisingly good.
ОтветитьWell that was cool to see the review and the tear down! Thanks!
ОтветитьHow are you doing with the Covid 19 stuff. Are you staying home? Are you in the critical age group? Oh...great review by the way...looks like a great value.
Ответить👍👍👍👍
ОтветитьOne of my favourite budget steels...oooooh yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьHarnds sells great knives. I got this model without the clip, sadly. I think I will order one with clip too.
ОтветитьI suggest that not all loop over pocket clips are deep carry. A clip, regardless of style, should not really be considered deep carry unless it is near or even to the heel of the knife. You can literally put a loop over clip in the middle of the knife and by the standard that it loops over, still be called "deep carry". For instance, no Spyderco clip is deep carry. No machined titanium clip (that I have ever seen) qualifies as deep carry simply because the machined portion that supports the screws always moves the actual attachment point down (unnecessarily). IMHO
This one reminds me strongly of an old Bastion model I have.
I have this same knife and I was disappointed with it in 3 aspects:
1. its locking lining is very soft, the steel of the locking line has only 48 on the HRC scale, which makes it soft to close (disengage), but at the same time makes it weaker in harder use.
2. The black coating on the blade is made of a "sticky" material, which makes it a little bad at slicing things.
3. The factory sharpening is very bad.
but, i liked of the design
I got from Amazon today, liked it but knew something was little off about opening. Figured I'd clean out like I did my Land 910+ that fixed great....nope. Lo and behold the gen 2 Assassin had ONLY ONE BEARING! Very disappointed, returning to Amazon. In meantime, I tried the STEEL bearing from my great Ganzo FH41 (same size, just not ceramic), and luckily those made it EXTREMELY enjoyable to open and drop like a champ. Great knife for money, horrible Quality Control!
ОтветитьMine has no pocket clip. Don't need no stinking pocket clip. Ha Ha Ha, I can live without the pocket clip, but it does need one.
ОтветитьI just purchased one. An am really pleased. A great feel. An 14c28n, you can't beat it. A really nice one!
ОтветитьNever heard of this brand but thats pretty nice.
