The Cadillac XLR is a better buy.

I'd rather have a Cadillac XLR or Audi RS4 Convertible for the same money.

Standard features include air conditioning w/dual-zone climate controls, navigation system, power tilt/telescopic leather-wrapped steering wheel w/radio controls, cruise control, leather upholstery, heated 10-way power front seats, memory system, keyless start, 6-disc CD changer, premium sound system, universal garage door opener, and wireless cell phone link. Options include upgraded leather upholstery, adaptive cruise control, 16-way power front seats, and super-premium sound system.

Competitors include the Cadillac XLR and BMW 650i. A less expensive, not-so-sporty alternative is the Lexus SC430. A more expensive, more upscale and sportier alternative is the Mercedes-Benz SL550.

interesting how people always refer to the xkr when i specify the "xk" base model a couple of things: 1. the 2009 jaguar xkr does 0-60mph in 5.0 seconds. you must be referring to some 2010 or 2011 model. 2. you did get three reasons, so congratulations. but what if the 2010/2011 cadillac xlr-v is faster than the 2010/2011 jaguar xkr? let me restate my three reasons for the xlr BASE over the jaguar xk: 1. slightly more upscale 2. hardtop convertible 3. slightly better priced your turn... lol

your first reason is not valid. the cadillac xlr-v has a hardtop as well, so you can't say that hte jaguar xkr is better BECAUSE it has a hardtop. neither is your second reason. you're foolishly making the assumption that everyone dislikes the xlr-v's design. you might be able to prove me wrong and say that the jaguar xkr is better than the cadillac xlr-v, but you haven't taken many steps toward proving to me that the regular xk is better than the regular xlr

it's interesting that you keep referring to the xlr's design as being a negative for the xlr. again, what if some people prefer the sharp designs? i bet the 2010 or 2011 cadillac xlr-v will be just as much of a competitor as the jaguar xkr, but i'm not sure of that. so far, you're not successful in convincing me to buy a jaguar xkr over a cadillac xlr-v (or for that matter, a jaguar xk base over a cadillac xlr base). any other reasons that you have???

LOL let me say my reasons for the cadillac xlr over the jaguar xk one more time: 1. the xlr has standard cooled seats, while the jaguar xk does not. 2. the xlr is less expensive. 3. the xlr is a hardtop convertible, while the jaguar xk is a softtop. 4. the xlr has standard voice recognition. 5. the xlr has a standard heated steering wheel. 6. the xlr has more power than the xk, and the xlr-v has more power than the xkr. #1, 3, 4, and 5 define the xlr's more luxurious interior...

Do people not realize that they put those back seats their for when you NEED to have more than 3 people in the car temporarily then you can take the extra person, if it isn't used for that, then it is extra storage space. the back seats don't hurt the beauty of the car like most.

I dont understand how a 6 series is more prestigious than a Jag.

@Alittletooextra It's not, the 6-series is more performance oriented and gives you more of everything for your money. The 6-series has more hp (360 vs 300), more backseat passenger space, better chassis balance for handling, and is significantly more reliable than the Jag. However, the Jag dominates when it comes to looks and brand prestige. So as the video said, if you want to feel like the next Michael Schaumacher, the Jag is a bad choice, but it's perfect for cruising and looking smug!

@bluehorse888 Jaguar are only behind Lexus in terms of reliability and have been for years!! They also have a ton of international awards,so you heard wrong! Must have been an American car!!!!!

@BlastDance you info is at least 2 years old. starting 2010 XK is 380HP with magnetic shocks (like in ZR1 & Enzo) & has one of the fastest gear shift in the industry (according to comparison BMW is even slower than Mercedes). Also in March 2010 receive JD Power top3, 5 stars on reliability. Par with Lexus & Lincoln. BMW is no where near the top! plus 400 lb lighter. Sorry to burst your bubble.

@BlastDance The XK8 in the video may have 300, but the current one has 385 The XK has a very advanced aluminium chassis; very light car for what it is In terms of reliability, all modern Jaguars are extremely reliable, probably moreso than a 650i Just clearing up some points. And the XK series is fast, cool, and comfortable; the ideal Grand Touring car.

@pimpninja1985 What an American would know about car reliability you could write on the back of a grain of sand! Trouble with you Yanks is that you are so used to driving dire cars you have failed to notice that the European manufacturers are so far ahead of anything you produce that all you are good at is bad mouthing the likes of Jaguar.The Jag XF has over 100 INTERNATIONAL awards alone you don't get that making unreliable cars.Besides they have NEVER been out of the top 5 of JD Power survey!

@pimpninja1985 If you drive an American car then you need your head testing and you clearly know nothing about cars.UK brands are sold the world over and if you think the likes of Landrover,Range Rover,Mini,Bentley,Rolls Royce,Morgan,Aston Martin etc are going to brake down over ANY 'merican car than you clearly haven;t done your research.More people than EVER are now buying European cars and Jag,Aston M,Range Rover and Mini are selling more cars in the US than EVER.The bullshit is yours!!

It all comes down to opinion... Everybody fights about what is more reliable, The truth is, There are reliable American cars, and reliable British cars. The difference is, British cars have more heart and soukd put into them. I can't personally get past the cheap plastic used in American cars. The new ones look good until you get inside. But it's about how a car makes you feel. Some like throaty American cars and some like the refined elegant British car.

I had the choice of many American cars since I live in Canada where there is an abundance because they are built here. And I chose to buy a Jaguar and I have had no trouble. As is the same testimony from most Jaguar owners. There are some unreliable models like the series 2 XJ6 and the Series one XJS (Both electrical issues) and you get your bad American cars like the Ford Pinto and pretty much any Chrysler. Do your research and choose the right car. The new cars are all pretty reliable now.

It would be a great car until the warranty runs out. British cars looks nice but are built awfully.

People can say whatever they want. It's all about a personal opinion and what u like. The jag XK is an amazing simple beautiful car. Not meant for the purpose of sport driving. It's meant to get someone to a destination in comfort.. I wish people would stop bitching about cars. Jags are one of the most luxurious cars in the woRld. I don't know about you I never see any XKs on the road but corvette are everywhere and people don't even notice them anymore

Question. For the guy who did the video, how tall are you? I was curious about how you fit in this car. I'm taller and am curious of its comfortable . Thanks . I've always wanted one of these.

Great Jaguar XK

That not a 2007 XK its a mk 1 XK as seen by the fog lights being recessed !

That Porsche they show is one butt-ugly f-ing car. Then again, they always were. How can they even begin to compare when it comes to styling? Some review, why couldn't they show this thing getting on it along with the sound track, after all, isn't that one of the primary reasons anyone would buy this?
