Justice and equity i think you have something confused there equity is suppression of excellence to rise the lowest common denominator for example in the America school system they lowered the standard of the tests score to rise the average and the result is now a larger percentage of highschool graduates are illiterate and amercan sxgool are the worst in the free world thanks to equity.

Why on earth do you keep calling him BahamAt? A few times you managed to actually say BahamUt, but only like 3 times in the entire video. Pet peeve of mine when people who supposedly(!) are something of an expert in what they gab about, can't even properly pronounce the names of the individuals, races, places etc they speak about.
It's not hard. Look it up. Before you make long teaching videos as an expert.

Would the inverse of a platinum dragon be a rainbow dragon? With a shitton of extra limbs and other features instead of none

I like the idea that not only a dragon could become one but a follower of bahamut. The transformation the ultimate reward for anyone , no matter species, that follows bahamut and the path of right and good.

I'm actually running a homebrew campaign at the moment about a group of adventurers assisting Bahamut in a crusade against Tiamat in hopes to finally banish or get rid of her for good. Might throw a platinum dragon into the campaign that comes after as it's about 150 years after the current one and is evil-aligned, dealing with the repercussions of that crusade against tiamat.

This is so stupid, Bahamut, a Godlike being, having a race is like saying Shar and Selune has a race. And they like Bahamut, is/was part of Ao's creation.

Sure, you can homebrew something about it, but that then strips the lore and creation of all the metalic dragons and waters down Bahamut importance and status. You might asswell create a new cast of them Iike Radiation dragons😅 with Plutonium Dragon, Uranium Dragons, etc. or whatever.

Just an idea for how I would run the platinum transformation ritual.
The ritual is a very closely guarded secret, only truly known by platinum dragons, but there are many different rumors of how it works, sometimes even spread by platinum dragons intentionally. This is because the actual ritual is surprisingly easy. A dragon needs to sacrifice themselves to further or protect the ideals of bahamut, and should he deem the dragon's actions in life and in sacrifice to be worthy, the dragon will be reborn as a platinum dragon. Most importantly though, if a dragon knows the truth of the ritual, it will not work. They can not sacrifice themselves knowing they will come back platinum. This is why already existing platinum dragon will lie about the ritual. They want more platinum dragons, and the rumors the dragon's spread help the would be platinum dragon to earn bahamut's favor, as well as keep the truth of the ritual secret from them so they remain eligible. In the event that an individual of any species learns the truth of the ritual and is not already a platinum dragon, they will be hunted down by a platinum dragon and either sworn to secrecy, or forcefully silenced if they don't cooperate.

Huh. A Brazen Serpent is a known symbol. I had never considered that such a thing may be what a Metallic Dragon in these stories might descend from. The different metals are just a division to concentrate aspects. If I had to do it. I would make Dragons of every kind suffer from the sin of Pride. Fundamentally inhuman in its manifestation. Meaning anything you get from a Dragon is invariably incompatible with the type of Creature a Mortal may be. What it’s role is. But by looking upon such things, one may find answers, but it is not the Dragon itself who delivers enlightenment. Despite its pretension.

This was a lot of fun, but since Tiamat has killed offspring with multiple heads, and doesn't seem to have dragons better than red, it's too bad chromatics don't have a similar "evil" option?

I'll apologize if this relates to a video you had already done, but it's making me wish for a similar video on angels. I know that most parties are expected to be good, so fighting angels shouldn't happen often, and how many fallen angels really make sense?, but it still bums me out with how many Devilscand Demons we get, that the Angels feel so underrepresented.

Unfortunately, there is actually a more recent mention of Lendys and Tamara. On page 208 of Fizban's Treasury of Dragons, a sidebar next to the Metallic Greatwyrm stat block claims that they're just silver greatwyrms. Of course, this is also the book that says Sardior is dead and Song/Steel dragons never existed, so this is one of many pieces of 5e lore my group has decided to say "no" to

Thanks for the video!

You know, rather than Bahamut Himself misjudging the personality of a from-then-on Platinum Dragon, I find it far more likely that a Platinum Dragon has ended up on the opposing side in a conflict without clear good and evil, where both side have their own good motives with unfortunate consequences, but where one side has a connection to the adventurer(Team A), and perhaps the other holds a previous adventuring group who helped this dragon ascend to Platinumhood(Team B).

Maybe the great feat was infact taking down a Dark Empire and founding Team B's current Domain on its broken, vile corpse. While still good in spirit, such a nation would still be haunted by its dark past. Even if the adventurers-turned-rulers are still fighting to make things right when, perhaps, a Noble House of the Dark Empire, who are still around because they aided Team B in their usurpation, cross a point of no return with the forces of a neighbouring kingdom. Misunderstandings and mistakes can easily reach that point when enough power and pride is involved. Clumsy phrasing taken as a slight, diplomat branded a spy or assassin, that sort of thing.

To spin a specific narrative, the neighbouring kingdom remembers this Noble House from when they served the Dark Empire, so in a show of goodwill, the Noble House sends someone who's far too important for such a role to act as a diplomat or political guest. Well-earned, if misplaced, suspicion against this Noble Scion, an old retired War Hero being paranoid and the Scion actually getting lost causes the aged War Hero to accuse him of being an infiltrator. The Scion is relatively young and hot-blooded by comparison. While not just innocent, they also grew up in a Noble House who, despite their relatively recent turning of a new leaf, still holds a lot of values and traditions from their extensive history being a House that rose to power in the Dark Empire. Thus they take this as an insult and a challenge of their honour of the highest degree and immediately calls for a duel. Though severely weakened by age, the War Hero rises up to the challenge. This duel, however, has an unfortunate end as the aged War Hero's body fails him at the wrong moment, and an injuring blow turns fatal.

At this point nearby soldiers finally arrive at the scene to find their beloved war hero dead, his killer still standing over him. Wounded from the duel against someone so superior in skill, the Scion cannot resist arrest. While due process calls for a massive diplomatic dispute, an over-eager(or perhaps vengeful) interrogator ends up killing the Scion before the full story can come out.

Now we have Team A who's just lost a beloved War Hero to what they think was blatant assassination, against Team B whose rulers might've seen the unjustly murdered Scion grow up and who have no information other than claims of assassination and a suspicious death under interrogation. The Platinum Dragon would be closely involved with, and thus biased towards, Team B and the player's adventuring party might've grown up hearing stories of the War Hero's exploits growing up in the nation of Team A. At its core it's all a misunderstanding but because of its lethal outcome for both sides, both nations are now out for blood. Neither side is evil, and as far as they know both sides have a just Casus Belli. The situation can only escalate from here.

"What if platinum dragons were turned INTO platinum dragons from another dragon type by some sort of god?"
That's literally how Bahamut created the dragonborn in Races of the Dragon... theu were also platinum in color to reflect this choice.
This idea isn't new, he.literally reflected an already used idea by Bahamut himself

I acquired a baby gold dragon and due to the way my dm runs combat pets she is an Order of Draconic Majesty Paladin and a true dragon. She even has a tiny little hoard of trinkets she has gathered. Her sovereign is bahumet and her oath is to an older gold dragon. She seeks to embody her sovereign tenants. I could make her end goal to become a platinum dragon or even an aspect of her god.

Doing good deeds for a book isn't exactly good behavior 😅

Something I thought of to make the platinum dragons like 5% better would be most dragons already have trouble manipulating their environment (besides destroying things or selectively destroying things) so the transition to 6 limbs to zero might be a feature of the transformation or it could pivot into something interesting like a improved telekinetic ability seeing as the wyrm could now be as dexterous if not moreso than a human.

Great video, Dungeon Dad 👍🏻👍🏻
