I’ve had great doc Martens and good docs. I invested in Blundstone for work. Wow! Super comfortable right out of the box and very good construction. I’m an artist. I need a boot that I can wear all day that will support my foot and the rest of my body. Totally convinced.
Ответить1460's made in England and not the cheap fashion knockoffs are what should have been used for an actual comparison. I alternate 1460's with a pair of Redwing Blacksmiths.
ОтветитьThe thing is, Red Wings in my country do not exist. And Dr, Martens are very popular, but I don;t wanna buy them, becouse they cost 180€ and I will wear the sole out in 1 year. But... for the cost of Red Wing pair you can buy two Dr. Martens pairs, so... out of the question.
ОтветитьAs for traction try walking in Doc’s on a icy road in 20 degree weather. Can you say frozen shoe sole.
ОтветитьAre the sizes the same on dr m and redwings?
ОтветитьAlways Hated Doc Martens. Had one pair given to me in the 90's and it was the most uncomfortable shoe/boot I've ever worn. Also hate the yellow stitching look.
ОтветитьDo you have Hamilton watch on the video right???
ОтветитьHmm don't know who could like a plastic coat on a leather boot.... Docs not for me
ОтветитьNot really a competition is it, dr martens have been trash for the last 25 years at least. I'm from England and would definitely pay extra for redwing. Dr martens are about as good as a dickies work boot.
ОтветитьI have both boots. It depends on what you like. Doc Martens is an iconic boot for workers and in the made in UK model has better quality. I would buy the Horween leather in the Martens to get close to Red Wing Iron Ranger in quality. I would choise both boots. The Red Wing for looking Denim bad Ass style ( something like Bad Lands film ) or Doc Martens for using you leather jacket outfit or military outfit. For a men both boots would be loved for women.... better than a pair of Jordans.... always.
ОтветитьTotally different boots you can’t compare them
ОтветитьDr. Martin's are junk. I loved the look of the docs. And then within 6 months the sole separated. One time removing them in the air port line check in. When I say separated I'm saying the entire welp al the way back to mid foot. 2 pair. 2 different stores and never again.
ОтветитьRed Wing is so comfortable out the box compared to Dr. Marten’s. I have the Iron Rangers and Moc toe pink (yes, pink). I bought both brands around the same time and I wear Red Wing more than docs.
ОтветитьYour boots are all too big for you. Its obvious in the eyelet flaps almost touching when tied
ОтветитьLol. I just clicked to post there is no comparison to iron rangers.
ОтветитьI remember in my punk rock/ doc marten days we went to the mountains and the snow seemed to get right through the boot. Might as well wear chucks! But hey, good times and we looked cool 😎
ОтветитьCan you cut a Hoka Bondi?
It's the one miracle shoe that allows me to walk without pain and I gave away my wheelchair
Docs all the way. Real Doc people get it.
ОтветитьShould've used the made in england docs as a comp
ОтветитьI have the red wings I bought for work and they are horrible on my feet after a few hours. I feel as if I walked a marathon. Un explainable Pain that I do not want. At least that’s my experience with these.
ОтветитьI'm pretty sure that the 1460 is made in Asia AND in England. The one's made in England cost more.
ОтветитьAt some point, I think you should get a new pair of IR’s. That way … you won’t have to explain how you over conditioned them, in all your IR videos. Who knows … maybe someday, you’ll be known as a guy that can maintain your boots color .. 🤷🏻♂️
ОтветитьRed Wings!
ОтветитьIt does not make any sense to compare red wing full grain oiled leather to dr martens corrected leather. Better comparison could be solovair 8-hole derby, greasy or gaucho leather vs those red wings.
ОтветитьDocs are a European boot, I have never heard about red wings, never. It feels like Docs have been here forever, Well since I was born back in mid 60’s… American boots in Europe is times 3 with that stupid tax that hit us 5 years ago?..Trade war with some kind of 1%’er president..😆
ОтветитьHad no idea that doc's were Solivair now! I am looking to get another pair like the oxblood 11 eyes I had in the 90's. Just can't decide between 8 or 11 eye.
ОтветитьRW popular in USA 🇺🇸 Dr M popular in 🇬🇧 UK both are great in the world
ОтветитьRW look like an old man Dr M look like teen
ОтветитьIs it safe to say that the sizing between the Red Wing Iron Ranger and the Doc Martens 1460 (Made in England) are the same? For example, a US size 10 in Docs will be the same size as a size 10 Red Wing Iron Ranger (Regular, not EE)?
Ответитьwould be nice to compare with hanwag
ОтветитьIt would be funny to see you walking around with 2 different boots on
ОтветитьJust bought a pair of solovairs , while they’re better than docs and look good they’re nowhere near my Redwing Blacksmith boots in terms of build quality and materials used .
ОтветитьI just really can’t stand the look of Doc Martins. Plasticky, frumpy looking boots
ОтветитьI think the made in England 1460s should have been what were compared. They are of much higher quality than the Asian made version.
The problem with the Iron Rangers is they do not take an insole well at all. I have arch issues where as I have gotten older I have to have some real arch support, and the Iron Rangers just do not take an insole well at all. To get one to fit you have to a full size up and they just do not feel good or fit good on the foot.
This is where Dr. Martens are superior because they easily take an insole and still feel great on the feet. So, since 1994 I've worn Dr. Martens (1460s, 1461s, 5093s,) and continue because now that I am in my 40s I need an insole and Dr. Martens take them with ease.
I rotate 3 pairs of docs 4160's weekly for work for mostly 10-12 hours each day and usually 6 days per week. One pair was made in Vietnam and other in Lao PDR. Excellent quality and very little wear on the soles over a year and a half. I also brush them off after each wear and treat them with Mink oil as needed. Super comfortable all day long. Tomorrow is my day off. I'll be stepping out with one of two pair of 4160 Crazy Horses that I only rock casually and never for work. Both pair of Crazy Horse's were made in Bangladesh. I don't care where they're made as long as they're the quality, comfort, and coolness I dig in Docs. Granted, I'm not wearing Docs while lazying about the house or having supper at my dear sweet ma's house just down the road. That's what Birkenstocks are for. Other than that....I pretty much live in Doc's I reckon. They are just da kine. I'll be wearing a pair of Docs when I step off the plane in Honolulu May 2023. Mahalo!
Ответитьnot sure these 2 boots should be mentioned in the same sentence...
ОтветитьOnly Martens the original skinhead boot
ОтветитьI cannot fathom the preference for a flimsy creased shiny boot. It is one of those things that has never appealed to me in the slightest, all leather creases, that's a fact but the Docs are just so flimsy and thin looking I don't see any support or protection from heat/friction that would justify the price and albeit lacking manufacturing from Asia.
I opted for a pair of NPS boots and after 2 months of usage they still look supportive and sturdy compared to even a brand new Doc Marten boot.
Also your Red Wings look like they accidentally put a size 3 sole into a size 10 boot.
ОтветитьWhat I really like from the DM 1460 it has more of Combat look and it just fits my style better but I do love the the iron ranger
Ответить$360 boot compared to a $180 boot. Really?
ОтветитьI like how all the people who bash Docs are the boot aficionados wearing $300 boots
ОтветитьEven though Doc Martens ABSOLUTELY SUCK , I still ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM!!!
ОтветитьI like Docs but its hard to say their standard models are very well made. Some special stuff (like the MIE and Smiths 1460s) still feel very nice with thick, tough leather but the standard boots are very cheap feeling for what you're buying. I lucked out recently getting a pair of smiths 1460s for £75 which was an insane steal and they are very very nice but they arent made anymore. Honestly its just a shame with the quality drop of the standard stuff
ОтветитьMy DMs are made in England so it makes a difference
ОтветитьI’d get a pair of Red Wing 953’s if I couldn’t afford the Iron Rangers. They’re made in the US, can be resoled and can be had for under $200.
ОтветитьThe problem with the red wings, and Ive owned my pair of Iron Rangers since 2013, is that regardless of the claim that the cork helps the sole mold to your foot, its still very hard as a material, and therefore causes fatigue more quickly during the day where as the Docs are comfortable not only out of the box but all day long. Yeah the Red Wings are better on paper but in the day to day and in the long term the Docs hare more comfortable.
ОтветитьIf my soles are too soft, I rip them off. If a shoe is meant to cater to people who do not care about fit, they cater to someone who cares about style. If you need a ginormous sole to make up for the poor fit, (probably because you don't NEED to wear a boot at all) that's your audience. Boom. Doc Martens. With the huge ridiculous heavy rubber sole. Style. Probably better for walking on snow.
Ответитьthe red wing is very good quality leather soles (vibram, cork.)I bought too many pairs for the last 20 years I have 50years old my feet is change my body I need more softener but I buy my DR.martens last 6 month in 100% is all need in my live (run every day) .I love DR Martens MADE IN ENGLAND>
