Hello sir, i want feedback after 4 years usage how is the performance till date??

Owesome videos always. For some reason every time i want to know about solar and batteries, i just search for your videos.
I would like to know the the optimum BMS in amps for a 16s LiFePO4 setup for a 48volts (15KWH) battery pack

Anyone know of a 48V, 14S, 100 or 150A NMC BMS that is NOT made in China?

For the past couple of months, Overkill Solar has been been coming out with their new "Pathfinder" model and has discontinued this old model. Pathfinder is still not available for pre-order. Anyone recommend a good BMS for a 48v now?

they have stoped makeing them? have you got the 16 Cell Layout with a Pathfinder BMS to test yet?

can you build this for a van life setup by just adding a heating pad? would love to use these skinny cells in series to make a 12v pack.

Will, if I have a 8s BMS and 8 cells can I still run my 8 cell pack as 12v or does a 8s BMS have to be a 24V system?

Overkill no longer carries much of anything that you recommend.

They are JBD. Software and the "UART" dongle is same too.

I have 2 500amp lifepo4 battery. Want 24v 8 string. I have a 80amp moes transfer switch. Can I use a 100 amp bms? I only need 100amp.

Btw if I have 4x280ah cells with a bms and want to build a 48v battery but adding 100ah cells while still also having a 12v outlet for my boat, Would it be ok to have a BMS on the 4x280ah and another 3x 4x100ah with bmsess. And then add one bms that would balance out between them 4x12v ? if i would pull the 12v outlet from the (4x280ah) batteries in the series? Also having a solarpanel on the 280ah batteryback since i dont have room for too many solarpanels reaching above 54v. Was it understandable? :D

Hey Will! I know this vid is 3 years old, but Id just like to thank you for all the great info on solar systems in general. This vid lead me to the Overkill BMS . I really didnt want to spend a fortune on Batrium or other BMS's that are like $1000! For all the features and performance, you really cant beat it. Im wiring up a 16s Eve 280AH pack to play with the BMS. If all goes well ill be getting another for my custom built 10Kwh cartridge style 18650 power wall. Ive been running it for 6 years with no BMS, just balancing it twice a year or so, but with the affordability and reliability of this BMS, im sure ill be getting a second one. The good thing about this vid being 3 years old is that Overkill is still in business so they can be trusted. Once again, Thanks!

You provide a diagram for the 48v BMS near beginning of video. The top row of balance cables are connected to the negative terminals, correct me if I am wrong but I believe that is a mistake.

Eco worthy 12.8v 280ah batery what do you have to say about this product. They are relatively cheep at $8k for a 50+kwh bank.

Can you replace the bms in your lifepho4 battery with this?

Will this bms work with tesla cells?

I don’t understand how the BMS actually stops the charging. It’s just connected to the negative cable, so how does that stop charging? I mean the negative goes right to a shunt, and that goes right to the ground busbar so if it disconnected the ground, nothing would run. You couldn’t get any power out of the battery.

I like the idea of putting two cells in parallel and make a string of 4 or 8 (*2) cells. Is this a safe way to keep the cells balanced?

Hi Will I need to replace a bad BMS its a 100A BMS on a 12v 200AH LIPO4 can the Overkill 12v 120A BMS work or do I need a 100A BMS as the same that was in the battery?

I already removed the bad BMS just looking for a replacement

To my understanding, a
2000 watt inverter / 12 volt battery = 166.67 amps

Adding 15% for the inverter inefficiency this brings the amperage from 166.67A to
191.67A

So I understand why you sized your cabling to 200A

This makes sense. But your batteries bms is 100A

Bms has confused me since I see many different ways that people are installing there off grid systems

If you are installing cable and fuses rates for 200 amp and your bms is rated for 100 won’t that damage the battery ?

Have you ever accidentally dropped a connector across the wrong terminals? If so, how did you react, assuming your reaction wasn't like mine, which would be to run like it was a grenade?

Question: If I build a 4s 12v battery out of 150AH cells, would I need a 100A, or 200A BMS? I can get a 300a BMS for a good price, but would that be too much?

V]CAN YOU PLEASE HELP READ YOUR BOOK AND IM NEW AT THIS AND I STILL GOT IT WRONG SPEANT over £2000 i been trying for days no charge.

I have a 48v byd lithium batteries but unfortunately i misplaceed a card in the Battery pack that commicates with the bms is it posible to use any other bms or is there a way to use the batteries without any issues??

FYI, I ordered overkill solar 3/0 wire, and it's extremely low grade. They advertise marine grade, and it's far from it.

I hate doing this here but love the videos no BS explanations. I am converting my liveaboard sailboat to lithium. Im new to lithium but fairly experienced in electronics from military experience years ago. Anyway I believe I'm going to go with your recommendations on the overkill batteries simply because of the ruggedness of the builds and what they will experience on a cruising sailboat.
My issue comes in with the BMS. Most of the boat draws no more and typically far less than anything in your home with a maximum of 100 amps at short durations. AND then I have a Bow thruster that is also 12v it draws 400 amps (uses a 400 amp slow blow fuse so not full 400 typical) To be clear a Bow thruster is only used for 10 to 15 seconds over maybe 1 to 2 minutes so this isn't a space heater running all day heating up. Anyway the only bms I've found is this daly one that goes up to 500 amps but to be honest I'm not super excited about the quality the vibe the company puts off. They seem to be everywhere are a bright red and have a fan on the board.
Is there some work around maybe better quality or are they trustworthy? I could parallel 2-200 amp BMS but then the build gets more complicated and I like simple when it comes to rugged.

Maybe I'm missing something on the build and over complicating the thought process.

Any advice from anyone is much appreciated.

Advice for 8 Cells i plan on building an 8 cell 12v system (i know but thats what I’m planning). Can the 12v overkill BMS be used for this with only 4 balance wires? Could I substitute the 24v version in my 12v application?

I wish they had a 36v version. Can you convert a 48v version to a 36v by changing the parameters?

I'm in lifepo4. What batt would you suggest for car audio? 12v system. 4k skar audio sk4500.1 amp 1 for now but 2 soon 320amp alt. 2/0 power runs
