Just a heads up but those shoes were probably children's shoes. You'll see this frequently with vintage clothing that the items that are best preserved were the ones least worn. Generally speaking a growing child doesn't wear their sunday best often and when they do it's only a few times before they grow out of it. That's why you find dress, shoes, and petticoats that are so small all the time.

Obviously, people were a bit shorter and the average weight of an American was less back then, but it wasn't insanely so.

My mom passed away 5 years ago but my 3 sisters and myself still love going places with each other. We have so much fun doing nothing. Go back! I need to see that ruby glass swan! My mother was fired one from her bestie/ why sister. It was made fun of or years. Mother put into a cabinet and asked well what do I o with it? Well I now have it it’s in a box, because I resently moved. However, a few years ago, I was in an antique store outside of Boston. And saw another one, have regretted I didn’t buy it.
