Joel Klatt’s CFP Prediction + Ohio St-Tennessee, Notre Dame-IU, Penn St-SMU & Texas-Clemson Picks

Hmmm, I picked these games the exact opposite of Klatt last week. I like Notre Dame, Texas, Tennessee and SMU to all win.

It doesn't take much football knowledge to understand that Jim Knowles' defensive game plan against Oregon and Chip Kelly's offensive game plan against Michigan were not working. Yet, somehow they were not able to adjust, despite the fact that Ohio State had been dominating the 3rd quarter all season, outscoring their opponents by a factor of like 10 -1. These guys aren't Joe Schmos, they're football experts, so there are really no excuses. What lessons really need to be learned here that they shouldn't already know? It's baffling. Ohio State has lost the last two games of the season in each of the last two seasons, and so I just don't feel good about this one. If they play uptight again, I think they're cooked.

As a Nebraska fan, Cignetti has made a believer out of me. This is the most exciting first round match up, in my book.

Indiana winning straight up on the road when the only good team they played smoked them, yet Tenn, who is the best matchup to beat OSU, gets beat by double digits. What a big10 homer 😂

As a Texas fan, if Quinn plays an “OK” game, Texas wins by 10+… I feel like this game will be just like the Texas vs Kentucky Game where Texas shot themselves in the foot (as usual) and made the game close for Kentucky to get back in the ball game… 31-13 is my prediction for the game.

I always love the stats argument with USC. But they leave out garbage time yards 130 yards over 2 drives and a touchdown when the game is over. While missing the all american d tackle. Indiana wont score 34 points even if they go to overtime. USC did some good passing playd ofcourse but they had like 6 sideline acrobatic amazing catches in that game. In 75 degree sunny southern California weather. Indiana receivers not as talented and not doing that on a 20 degree night.

Klatt, where you are wrong is OSU's defense has not played anyone significant. The Big 10 is weak. TN is in the SEC where there is better talent. So, your prediction is based on if the schedules and conferences were equal.

I’m well aware that people want Notre Dame to lose but they won’t on Friday!! The defense continues to be underrated and yes, they gave up 35 points to USC but did have two pick sixes to seal the win!!! There won’t be 2 pick sixes Fri night but the defense will do enough to win the game!!! Don’t forget!! they do have a 2 headed at RB in Price and Love and a QB that can gain yards with his legs!!!

Also, ND should have won 49 to 28 against USC but took the foot off the gas defensively in the last minute of the game and gave up a super late TD. Who cares about that. The game was over after those pick 6's. Also, they went IN to USC at the Coliseum and won when teams like Georgia and Ohio State STRUGGLED and one of them lost against bad teams at THEIR home. Also, ND was missing their best defensive lineman for the last 3 games of the season (Howard Cross) and he's going to play against Indiana. ND will win again, making you continually picking against them damage your pick percentage lol. Never change Joel. Keep hating ND and glazing their opponents.

I sense ohio state will take care of buisness and get to the championship. Oregon is not going to beat them twice and they will play Georgia in the championship and take the title

Notre Dame’s pass game has been quietly and gradually getting better all season long. They don’t need a great pass game. They just need a competent pass game to compliment their run game and defense. Notre Dame is going to surprise people in this playoff.
