SHRINK YOUR PORES: TIPS FROM A DERMATOLOGIST| DR DRAY

Anecdotally I have noticed improvement in pores after using Ketoconazole 2% shampoo.stumbled upon this several years ago after using the shampoo for dandruff. back then was able to find one small article in New England JM. Talked about reduction of the size of sebaceous glands do some type of localized action of progesterone or related hormone on the glands. but I could have the hormone wrong it's been several years since I read the article. Skin is smoother after cleansing with this. Could you comment on this Doctor?

I have worn sunscreen for the past few years and have noticed that my pores have enlarged over ths las few months. I use a retinol at night and a bha every morning. I also moisturise. What do you advise?

I have dry skin but have large pores on top of my cheeks. What would you recommend for dry skin? I see that large pores is generally accepted as a problem of oily skin.

If sunscreen so effective why are the pores not on my whole face but only the parts on top of my cheeks that i used many bb cream and avoid cleaning in my 20s. What i mean is that i have great skin other than those parts and i dont get obsessed about sunscrean because they contain too much chemicals nobody talks about. Why is it so pushed? I heard that the hole in the ozone layer will be completely gone in 2050 which i will check certainly but i feel a little bit fear mongering about sunscreans. I really dont like when smt is pushed too much.

What about vaping regarding pores

1. How often would you recommend using La Roche-Posay BHA/AHA/LHA serum? I have a combination skin, and my current routine mostly keeps the oil under control. Using different products containing BHA before almost always resulted in unmanageable dryness. Just trying to figure out the routine that would help instead of harming 😊
2. Pores are only concerning in a few areas. Should I be targeting those, or go over the entire face? (You might've said it, sorry if I missed it).

I been using cetaphil derma control sunscreen. It burns my eye so bad. I have a bad habit rubbing my eyes.

I am going to be 35 this September. I’ve always been known for my great skin. I was told that I look very young for my age. Until recently. I’ve noticed that my skin is starting to age. I’ve been focusing a lot more on my skin care lately. I’ve always had a pretty normal skincare routine, but I’ve never had to really do more than the 3 step process like Clinique. I’ve been using the 3 step number 2 skincare routine from Clinique for about 17 years now. It has always worked. But I’ve noticed my pores around my nose and cheeks are just so much more noticeable and my forehead is oily. I am going to try some of these products and hopefully they help. Thank you. Also, I tried Clinique under eye cream. But I woke up with puffy eyes after using it… why is that? My Korean friend is in her 50’s but still has 20 year old skin and zero wrinkles.. she said I should just eat kimchi but is K beauty products worth it? Such as cosrx?

The problem I have with salicylic acid is it tends to cause white head acne at the same time fighting other types of acne. I use a facial steamer or sauna to clean out my pores as well as the moisturizer. It shrunk my pores completely

I have never been told to moisturize and THEN use the product with the active ingredients. I always cleanse, aha/bha exfoliatant, then moisturize and I still have huge pores. Maybe changing the order of application will help? Thanks Doc 💕
