Hello and welcome to WhichLaptop, today we’ll be showing you the best laptops for Hackintosh!

Hackintosh is a modified version of Apple’s macOS that can run on non-Apple computers. However, unlike Windows and Linux-based operating systems, you can’t install it on any random laptop. For smooth functioning, you’ll need a device that has hardware that’s compatible with it.

Luckily I’ve compiled the 3 best laptops for you to use after hours of research and performance testing, I only recommend products that I believe in!

Up first is the Acer Swift 5. This laptop uses an intel 7th gen i7 processor which is boostable up to 4ghz.

With this laptop being so thin, you can’t expect a dedicated graphics card to be included, but the Intel UHD graphics card does a decent job in the first place (and if even if there was one, you would have had to disable it while running Hackintosh.)

It packs 16GB DDR3RAM and a 512GB SSD so you’ll never have to worry about slow loading times. Some great features of the device include a touch screen, relatively thin bezels and an impressive backlit keyboard.

With it weighing only 2.14 pounds and having an incredible 8 hours of battery life, this device is perfect for taking with you on the move!

My next pick is the HP Spectre x360. This is a great choice when you want to build a light and portable hackintosh without a sacrifice in performance.

The spectre uses the same Intel core i7 as the previous device, also clockable up to 4GHZ, as well as 16GB RAM, but this time with it being DDR4 not DDR3. It also comes with a 512GB SSD which is useful to users who want to dual boot Windows and MacOS.

One of the unique selling points of this device for me is the touchscreen. You’re able to change the angle of this 1080P display and using the HP touch pen for drawing or media creation is an absolute breeze!

You can expect up to 7 hours of battery life also, so you can factor that into your choice.

And my final pick is the Dell XPS 15.


If you’re not a fan of Macs but are looking for the same performance - this has to be in your list of considerations.

It packs a stunning 4K display, powered by a 10th gen intel i7 CPU, GTX 1650ti, 16GB DDR4 RAM and a 512GB SSD. Both the RAM and SSD have an option to be upgraded if needed.

All that power is packed into a machine weighing only 8lbs - allowing it to be both powerful and portable.
