so what is the solution for disabled people or those of us with sensory issues with the texture of sunscreen? I mostly try to stay out of the sun, wear covering clothes, use umbrellas as shade, etc. because I’m a redhead (as well as autistic and physically disabled) and sensitive to the sun as well as a lot of ingredients in sunscreens (aloe, any added scents, limonene/linalool because of a citrus allergy, and most benzoates/benehyl/benzoic acid/etc. ingredients due to a balsam of peru allergy and being prone to cross reactions so I seem to react to a lot of chemicals with benzene rings, including alkyl benzoate which I’ve seen in many sunscreens)

darn and here I was thinking spray sunscreen would solve my issues. I'm really bad at applying sunscreen apparently and I burn stupid easily, so every time I go out for a day in the sun, even if I reapply hourly, I end up with a bunch of tiny burnt spots all over where I missed. was hoping spray would help me avoid missing those spots. maybe I need to spray over regular sunscreen to help patch in the spots I've missed

I got shat on on Reddit for saying some sun screens can do harm. They said I encouraged people to not wear it at all. Fucking dumb fucks everywhere.

I don't understand how something that makes the hair greasy is preferred over having to fix up the makeup. You're not washing your hair in a public toilet each time you apply the sunscreen do you?

I have a spray sunscreen that I love, but I don’t actually spray it all over to apply it, I spray it into my hands so I know exactly how much I’m applying and then I rub it onto my skin. This is because I noticed the overspray and didn’t want to waste product or get it on things, and also wanted to see how much I was applying. It’s the best sunscreen I’ve ever used, too, in terms of efficacy and ease of use. So I imagine as with all things, YMMV.

I never liked sprays because I had a feeling that didn't work as well as a lotion. Or shall I say you cannot apply it as well as a lotion. It's quite a challenge to spray an even layer and it get's everywhere or half of it is blown away by the wind. But that it was this bad...

I am using spray emulsion (no idea if it is called like that in English), I mean the one you spray portion of emulsion and still needs to spread it on your body. I have learn on many mistakes that I am to lazy to use sunscreen in lotion form - it was always too much effort for me and was really sticky for long time. Emulsion is a little more watery, but still easy to apply and for years now I use it with pleasure.

I don't know about other continents, but sprays are usually more expensive than other sunscreen and last for shorter time - which make sense as you waste most of the product ;)

Also: spray is nice as extra tool if you are alone at the beach and want to apply sunscreen on your back ;) I can spray emulsion on my back, but there is that one spot I can't reach to spread it evenly - this year I forgot my spray-spray and just gave up and let that emulsion to run down and be white until it absorbed to my skin by it self 🙃

Oh dear, for someone who is VERY pale with a genetic predisposition to both melanoma and basal cell carcinoma, works in field-based agricultural research in Australia and hates the feel of sunscreen this was a sad eye-opener as I keep a spray on sunscreen in my work bag. Generally, I would rather wear clothing than sunscreen so the only bit of my skin exposed is my face and that is under a broad-brimmed hat. However, I will get those sprays and throw them away and go back to a gross, goopy lotion for my face. I don't wear makeup, I just hate the feel of sunscreen on my oily skin.

I wish I could just buy the spray fluid without the spray can part. I always just spray it into my palm and rub it on. I like the feel of the fluid the best, but I don't like losing product to the wind

So funny that she told her husband off for just spraying directly on himself like a normal person then found out that's actually necessary to have it get on your face. I use spray sun screen because the texture is less horrible, but I always spray it into my hand and pat it on like normal because I don't want sunscreen all over my carpet good to know that was a good move.

I'd like to know who the fork is going to the beach, or any place they need to apply sunscreen that is also putting on makeup.. and if they are, I don't think the spray sunscreen is the problem..
Also, I would rather you just say centimeters than "you heathens" every time you did a conversion.. even if metric is more ideal for many applications.. like I enjoyed the video, I just feel a bit bullied for using what's just everywhere for me..

Welp, I recently bought some spray sunscreen because it was the only one in the store that I was that had SPF 50. So lets see how bad that decision was 😅

EDIT: Finished watching and WOW these are some bad results 😮 I only bought the spray because I was visiting a festival and forget to buy some sunscreen creme before hand. I literally start working as a gardener in 2 days so I will be out in the sun a lot more than the usual person, so I really appreciate you doing this. Thankfully my skin isn't prone to outbreaks and as far as I'm aware I don't have any allergies. Definitely going to pick up some new sunscreen today + my place of work has plenty of sunscreen and hats as well (and my boss and coworkers hound each other each hour to reapply it).

Is PFAS in a face moisturizer really that dangerous? I fell in love with Kiehls Facial Fuel this summer but it does have pfas as the 12th ingredient. I know it should be avoided for many other reasons but it doesn’t seem to affect me.

Can someone help me?
I have noticed that on some days my sunscreen seems to absorb better than on others. I have been looking around the web but can't seem to find any good information why this is happening. I have dry skin and use a pretty lightweight but still very moisturising lotion that was prescribed by my dermatologist in case that info is needed.

I honestly hate spray sun screen & spray bug repellent. I've inhaled so much of it because someone was spraying their kids down or something and I was nearby unaware of what they were doing. Plus I've almost never managed to use a spray like that without inhaling it at some point. And ofc inhaling it often leaves to coughing for me.

Have you ever heard of oil-based uv-activate “melanin enhancing” sunscreen? I live in Spain and see it all the time. In my head, it feels like it shouldn’t work, because more tan = more damage. But all the pharmacists here tell me it’s safe. And whenever I try to look at it, I think “I need a chemist to explain this to me” - so if you’d ever be down to do a video 👀
