Not quite 20 years eight years garage door installation experience never lubricate an operator T rail for a LiftMaster or Chamberlain, use grease
ОтветитьI just tried this and it quieted my garage door for one opening. Now the screeching is worse haha. I can hear it's coming from the left side track as the door goes up. Doesn't make the sound when the door goes down.
ОтветитьPut the lubricant in the sock😂
ОтветитьActually, you don't have an internal spring as there is no such thing. Awesome video, you covered everything!
ОтветитьDarn I've been doing it wrong. I've been using silicon and just spraying all the rollers, then running the garage door up and down until the squeaks stop. But now I realize that is substandard. Thanks again for the excellent video! Glad I subscribed.
ОтветитьYour clarity on garage maintenance is over the top, your presentation is what teaching is all about thank you for your knowledge 2 thumbs-up!
ОтветитьJust bought a house with squeaky door. What can I do to remove what appears to be like regular grease first before using the suggested grease?
ОтветитьAlways unplug door opener.. we have grandkids that like to open garage door for Mamaw. So communicate with Mamaw that your working on door . 👍be safe always! Great video!
ОтветитьHow long does lubrication last?
Ответитьdo not use BLASTER brand…worst crap i’ve ever bought
ОтветитьThank you 🎉
ОтветитьWD-40 stinks too
ОтветитьJust did this for my garage door - and the noise reduction is AMAZING! I used WD-40 White Lithium Spray as you recommend.
ОтветитьGreat video! Terrific production values and very helpful.
ОтветитьVery useful, thank you!
Ответитьvery educative. thank you.
ОтветитьThank you! I sprayed every roller on the dang garage and was still there. Sprayed the spring going horizontal. And went right away! Thank you!
ОтветитьThank you and you've explained it really well!
ОтветитьI followed every steps and my garage door sounds so much nicer now. You rock!
ОтветитьGreat video. I just did my door and WOW!! what a difference. Mine was probably at least 3 times as loud as yours before I did it. Changed rollers and lubed it all up. Also, I have a Genie screw drive and the cover that covers the board and things was making a lot of noise. I tightened it down but didn't help so I wrapped it with a rubber tarp strap and that worked.. Nice and quite now.. What do you do if some of the screws were over tightened and striped out?? I found a bunch in the center of the door that the previous owner must have done. Can you go with a bigger screw?? Or nuts and bolts?? Thanks!!!
ОтветитьWhat should I do if I used regular WD-40 😢😢😢
ОтветитьDO NOT LUBRICATE THE ROLLERS AND SPRINGS YOU WILL DIE
ОтветитьThank you, this was awesome!
ОтветитьNicely done!
ОтветитьI was doing this maintenance and after completing my springs no squeak/squeal
ОтветитьUse butter.
ОтветитьWhy not use a garage door lubricant? I found it at Lowe's and it is made by Blaster or 3 in 1.
ОтветитьThank you. I used a silicone spray lubricant and the door opens about as quietly as it realistically can. You do need gloves for a project like this.
ОтветитьThank you, well done!
ОтветитьWhen you put the sock back on, don't let your wife see you walking on the carpets.
ОтветитьWould you recommend the same lubrication spray for the hinges of house doors (e.g. bedroom, bathroom doors) that squeak?
ОтветитьThanks! Great presentation very easy to follow.
ОтветитьThe silicone helped, but I had to put grease in the tracks to get it really quiet. Im going to get the silicone track wheels
ОтветитьI appreciate the detailed instructions. I ended up with a couple of squeaks left at the end, and I went back over all the rollers and nuts attaching to the door and blasted with more silicone grease and that solved it. Thanks again!
Ответитьbut how about non-rolling garage doors?? I can't find this anywhere
ОтветитьMate thanks so much for this! I had some really bad creaks and this got rid of them. Turns out one of the wheels was half seizing. It may seem like a simple thing to you but to me you've just taught me a new life skill. Legend!
ОтветитьCan i switch to white lithium after using silicone spray in the past?
ОтветитьGreat video! Max dB lowered by 9 and Avg by 12.5. Thank you!
ОтветитьThanks for posting this! I followed these instructions the other day and now the only sound that is heard when my two doors are raised or lowered is the sound of the motor of the door opener! Simply amazing!
ОтветитьHi there. I'm sorry to report, but white lithium grease, from any maker, did not work on my garage door. Well... it worked for two days. After that, there was foam on all hinges, tracks, rollers, etc. and the noise level went back to the same level IN TWO DAYS. white lithium grease IS A MYTH. IT'S A WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT.
ОтветитьWhat about the chain? My garage door has a chain on the top.
Ответитьthanks!!!!!!
ОтветитьWhich app is that you used for judging how loud garage door was? Is it available for iOS devices?
ОтветитьGreat video. Thanks for the video
ОтветитьFinally, someone who doesn’t demand a like and subscribe at the very beginning of a video. I appreciate you and your instructions as well as your no pressure request to like and subscribe.
ОтветитьTechnician said absolutely do not lubricate that tension spring
ОтветитьWatched about half dozen videos about lubricanting garage doors, by far this is the most useful one.
ОтветитьTY
ОтветитьThank you! great tutorial!
