Noob here, can someone explain why russia gets 50k more infantry than poland in these battles?

I have a request, do a video where identical stacks with just the first 3 ideas in either defensive, offensive or quality fight. So like defense vs offense, defense vs quality, offense vs quality.


I'm just confused as to why the 15% to morale in the defensive ideas is so sought after when you can get +1 to Fire and +1 to shock with just 1 more idea by picking offensive, and if they're so desperate for time, then the 10% to infantry combat is the first idea in quality.


So by my calculations assuming an average role of 4.5 you will go from 4.5 to 5.5 so i the roll this gets run through a formula 15 + 5*roll. so that means + to fire and shock are like 8.5/7.5 = 1.1333.


Okay so max morale only effects morale damage, not casualties and so I think that when the casualties start accumulating the 13.33% to casualties (both actual and morale casualties) is going to be better than the outright 15%, I guess with morale you have additional staying power, but is that enough to make up for the lack of casualties inflicted?


In fact according in the wiki I don't see anywhere in the formula where current morale effects casualties or morale damage, all I see is that max morale effects morale damage.


So obviously the casualties inflicted by offensive are going to make you win battles more efficiently than better morale and both ideas are going to be just about equally good at stackwiping. Are there situations where because of the extra staying power you can win battles with defensive where offensive would have lost? I guess if that is the case and your enemy cannot retreat to safety and you can stackwipe them in the next battle then defense might be better. But it looks to me like offensive is better in most situations though.

Force Limit bonuses don't need any nerfs in your next EBBs: reserves get morale hit from casualties as well, so when a stack of 120k fights a stack of 180k with 40k inf frontline and 40k artillery backline (as an example), the second army's reserves will enter battle in considerably worse shape. In PvP scenario a player on Russia would have 40k detached as a reserve which he would reinforce main battle with, and Poland would likely end with 1:3 score.

But yes, right now Russia has #1 best mix of military NIs, religion, government mechanics estates.
