Soviet Park and Funicular Railway in Georgia
Mtatsminda Park is an amusement facility located atop Mount Mtatsminda on 770 meter height overlooking the Georgian capital Tbilisi.
You can find various Cafes, Souvenirs shops, child entertainment center, wedding house, picnic zones and a big Ferris Wheel at the edge of the mountain. Also from Park a splendid view over the city, funicular tram and other fun attractions on the venue.
Fresh air, fun rides, attractions and constant events.
It is the highest point in Tbilisi and located on more than 100 hectares. Park has more than 100 years history.
In 1900 the city government commissioned the Belgian engineer, Alphonse Roby, to construct a funicular. The 500 metres long line was opened in March 1905. It consisted of three stations, the lower on today's Chonquadze street in the city, the Pantheon stop near the Mtatsminda Pantheon, and Mtatsminda, at the top of mountain.
