Damien would fit so well in Indonesian culture. We literally just create random nickname out of everyone's name. You could have "Agatha" as a name and still be called "Ucup" lol.

Is he autistic because we, genuinely, alter words and remix them to where it's like a different language. Genuinely, that's a trait. This includes having individual names for others or different pronunciations.

It's the neurospicy, I do the same thing, just more often with things than people. There's definitely a longer list, but the ones that come to mind off the top of my head are things like calling laundry "longry" or pasta "pabsta." There's another one I've been using a ton lately but can't remember for the life of me rn, I'm gonna be thinking about this all day--

I recently clinically found out i am neurodivergent, but it didn't really come as a suprise since i also always call people their name including a title or just anything except their actual name

I do this with my friends but it’s because I’m Hispanic and can’t pronounce certain words without having an accent so I go full Hispanic accent on their very much English names 😂

Corgan Milfhunter should be a character

Im Autistic and sometimes it physically hurts to use people's real names. My friends and family all have nick names. And I work with older people at a school and we call each other Ms/Mr Name and I think I would dissolve if i had to call them by their first name.

It's that same feeling in TV shows where a kid gets in trouble and the Mom yells their full name. Names and titles hold so much power in my head.

This is one of Damien's quirks that I love, mainly because I hella relate XD I mostly do it with words rather than names, but my parents and brother are free game. Various versions of mom and dad (mom, mother, momma, ma, mah, maw, mother dearest etc and dad, father, papa, p'paw, father dear etc) and my younger brother is every nickname I can think of for his actual name (except the common shortening of his name because he doesn't like that for personal reasons, tho I CAN call him by the first half of the first syllable of his name, just dropping the consonant from the end of it) as well as variations on Monkey (his nickname since he started walking and immediately climbed everything in site, like a monkey), and stinker (again from early childhood, I'm talking like ages 1-4 for this one tho). Stinker eventually dropped but then morphed into calling him Stunky, (like stinker+monkey, but also like the Pokemon), which morphed into Stunky-Monkey and Stink-Stunk. I do want to defend him a little and say he's actually very clean and smells very nice lol

This is just like how your pet's name changes every time you call their name and then finally one of those nicknames sticks. That's what Damien is doing, but with his friends.

There was this guy in highschool who I called Zeik or Ezeikiel and I found out two years later his name was Elijiah. For some reason I just thought his name was Zeik

ive always thought about this And i cant rationalize it very well but I Just. know this is one of his autism things. because i know not being able to call people by their names to their faces while talking to them is something a lot of us experience, plus hes said it isnt to be funny it just feels better, so i jsut...........have a sneaking suspicion ..... i can feel it
