Fishing Hook ( LIFE HACKS ) that are useful

To cover the treble hook on the hook keeper I cut one side off the hook cover

When you add a zip tie and cut it off use a heat source to melt the end you cut off so as not to cut yourself
A hint from a mechanic who's always getting cut by zip ties

I'm a little late but here's my tip use gamakatsu hooks they may cost a little extra but they get the job done perfectly

Don't red hooks simulate the same principle of a red fishing line? In watching uTube videos about fishing lines, they state that Red Line becomes less noticeable the deeper it goes...just saying. IDK but the blood color seems to be a better idea as some plugs that have red lines in them seem to work better to simulate blood. You know what I'm saying.

Question. What is the benefit of a offset hook compared to a flat one? I mostly fish for carp and catfish with circle hooks. Should I be offsetting the hooks?

Why not out the heat shrink over the knot, on the hook? If you are using a leader line with the hook, why not?

You mentioned that people said you didn’t do the safety pin hook hack.
You didn’t mention that and easier method would be to use your favorite alternative.

I only use single barbless hooks. They hook fish easier and cause less damage to the fish when dehooked.

Unless i'm strictly fishing for eaters, I debarb every hook I fish. I rarely eat fish, so my box is almost completely barbless. Besides, it's more fun fishing barbless. If you can keep it on, you won.

I use small rubber bands to hold my trouble hooks together on my crank baits and they don’t tangle up while in my storage box

[Zip-tie hack] Don't cut your zip-ties as that creates a sharp edge, instead grab the free end as close as possible to the zip with needle nose pliers and twist till the free end falls off. This creates a very soft edge.

That hook keeper hack is super handy! I have a bunch of spare mini key rings (those coiled split rings) for jewelry making, and my new rod doesn't have a keeper (was using the eye 😂😅) definitely fixing that tonight :D
